I think he will be. This guy is everywhere.

Not sure I've seen a guy work out for so many teams, but would not surprise me to see him in Utah or San Antonio.

Reminds me of Brodgen from last year. Came out of nowhere, and now he's in the rotation in MIL.

I'd bet a couple of bucks he's on a roster, but not all season. We shall see.

Does roster include going undrafted, but being signed by an NBA team and spending the year in the D-League? If so, then yes. I think some team will take a flyer for a year to see if he can improve his game (shot and point guard skills) in the D-league.

Briscoe is a 6'1 guard who isnt athletic, cant shoot, and doesnt have the handles to be an nba guard. Hes a college garbage guy, a spark. In his mind hes much more, if he wants thst to turn into a reality, hes got a ton or work to do. Even with work i dont think he can do it. In hindsight he should have been a top 50-75 4 star in college, 4 year player. The nba game doesnt fit him at all.

If he can exhibit PG skills, he has a chance. He will have to be above board on every aspect of the game because of his inability to make outside shots.

It will be extremely difficult in today's NBA where shooting is so imprtant, but he could find a niche if his passing and defense are exceptional.

I seriously hope you are wrong. I cannot verify you are wrong as I am such a novice in basketball. All I can do is hope you are wrong and state I think he will make it.

Let me give you 2 examples: Shelvin Mack of Lexington/Butler/Jazz and Patty Mills of Australia/Gonzaga/Spurs. Neither guy had much of a chance either, yet they're going to collect a NBA pension when they're through.

Gatorade (D) League. Might string together some 10 day contracts late.

Possibly will get one of those 2 way contracts though. Looking forward to seeing how those shake out.

Ok. I think he'll make it too?

I'm going to guess he won't get drafted, will get a chance somewhere before the season is over.

NBA rosters expand this year from 15 to 17. I think Briscoe will be on one of them. Quite possibly in Philly as they need guards and have 4 second round picks. Briscoe had a good workout last week in Philly. He has a lot of similarities to Marcus Smart, who showed very well in the playoffs for Boston.

You do realize the clear difference between those guys and Briscoe, right?

Mills and Mack were knockdown outside shooters, Briscoe obviously is not.

No. He's no better than Teague and he didn't make it. In fact Teague was a much better PG prospect whereas Briscoe doesn't have a true skill set other than being a bulldog driving to the basket , which will get blocked in the NBA.

Sorry, but your last one is bullshit. Briscoe has an excellent handle. The reason he didn't play point here is purely because he happened to be on the same teams as Ulis and Fox. It was not because of any lack of ballhandling skills.

That said, like you I'm also pessimistic about his NBA chances, but for the other reasons you cited. I suspect his poor shooting and athletic limitations will probably prevent him from making a roster.

NBA 10 day contract is probably his ceiling. Europe is his best chance of playing 2 or 3 years.

I think Briscoe is going to get a look in free agency, end up in the D league, maybe get some 10 day contracts here and there, maybe make a roster for a couple seasons, then ultimately end up back in the D league or overseas.

There was a time when tough scrappy guys could carve out 8-12 year careers. Not anymore, all a guy like that does now is take a spot that could go to a shooter/scorer.

Now they want tough scrappy guys that are shooters or uber athletes. Still, he can make more money playing pro ball somewhere than anything else he could probably do.

Well, technically Teague did make it, he just didn't last long (only two seasons).

But your point is valid. Teague was clearly the better pro prospect of the two. If he couldn't hack it in the League that sure ain't a good sign for Briscoe's chances.

Im talking about handles in the NBA.

If you are an undersized guard who cant shoot to save a life you better be a God at some kind of aspect of basketball. Briscoe isnt All Star great at anything and is terrible at others. So sure he's got some really good handles but nowhere near elite imo.

He has the floor to prove us wrong, but in all honesty he's one of my least favorite players of the Cal era so im not really keeping up.

It's easy to knock Briscoe, but the dude can definitely dribble. Watch any video of him when he actually ran point and the most noticeable asset of his is handling.

Both are better shooters than Briscoe.

Dumb that he left for the NBA just yet another case of makes no sense if Cal is pushing guys out the door or they want to leave on their own guys like Briscoe, Harrison twins, ect have no reason for not being 4 year starters at UK unless they just hate college.

Yep. And he's a damn tough defender and extremely good rebounder for his size. Briscoe does have his selling points: ballhandling, defense and rebounding are all areas where he rates quite high.

But unfortunately he rates quite low in other areas where today's scouts place an especially high premium: outside shooting, length and athleticism. Short chubby guys who can't shoot or jump ain't exactly in demand in today's NBA.

Briscoe wasnt a great defender in college. He was Ok, and he had moments, but he had lots of trouble guarding bigger guys.

In college he was a damn good rebounding guard. Ill definitely give hin that.

I just think hes not "great" at anything, not enough to offset his isssues in the league.

Again, not one of my favorites of the Cal era and i believe hurt us more than helped, but hes a cat so i do hope he gets what he wants out of it.

But you seem to know his shortcomings well for somebody who doesn't keep up. :)
