I agree and have believed so for some time. SEC uses KY to try to get more teams in NCAA tourney during regular season and especially the SEC tournament. Classic example is tonight.

Problem is all the SEC tourney tickets are sold in advance so SEC doesn’t care if semi-finals or finals are played in a 1/4 filled arena. The restaurants, bars and hotels are who feel the effects. But hey, Vandy’s chance to get in NCAA tourney increased so it was a successful night for the SEC.I bet ESPN won’t be too happy with the viewership numbers for Saturday or Sunday.

You should re-evaluate your thoughts on spending money on vacations. Traveling is one of the best things to do. Especially going to new places (not just an annual trip to Destin). One of the best things I spend my money on is traveling and seeing different parts of the country and world.

2) CatBen --man it wasnt the refs .. Vandy controlled this game damn near there entire way , poor shot selection , terrible D , terrible player rotations all played a much bigger part than the zebras .

We truly used to be the “gold standard” of the SEC Tournament. From 1992-1999, the only SEC Tournament we lost (in the Championship Game) was in 1996 (yet became National Champions).

Even under Cal, from 2010-2018—except for the NIT year in 2013—we always made it to the SEC Championship Game, and the other 2 years we didn’t win the SEC Tournament we made it to the NCAA Championship Game, winning in 2012. But since our SEC Tournament Championship win in 2018, we haven’t even made it to the SEC Championship Game (I realize we were favored in 2020…”what if”…).

It’s sad that UK is no longer expected to win it all, year in and year out, or at least make it to the Championship Game. The BBN is the best fanbase, though. I know for those who make the journey, it must especially sting for this to keep happening.
