Why we won, why we almost lost

Instead of the Basketball Bennies we have a group of the Basketball But-ies.

After every win it’s “well we won but….”

Just shut up and enjoy the games
There is an agenda there, they didn't like the Pope hire and will piss and moan wherever they can.

We won because we hit big shots, Brea with his 3s, Butler and Carr with clutch under five minute threes and we hit our free throws. Took advantage of shooting on home court rims.

Why we almost lost was giving up offensive rebounds and the Refs. Who sucked. They gave Florida the Duke 10 point advantage with their calls.
Kentucky's rebounding issues are a major concern, and the thing that will get them bounced. You simply cannot let the opponent get 2-3 shots on so many possessions when you have to work so hard to get 1.

Lost track of the number of buckets Florida got from extended possessions, but I do know I counted FIVE of their 3-pters made off of an offensive rebound at one point. That's crazy - and in hindsight, hard to believe UK actually won the game given this stat + free throw discrepancy + refs being awful + super slow start to both halves yet again.

Almost only counts in hand grenades and horse shoes. we will be complaining about the rebounding until the season ends. some of our players are a step slow and that's a deficiency we have but man our offensive potential is off the charts and with those cuts I saw yesterday this team is starting to buy in and it's fun to watch . Opposing teams are going to have to put up 80+ points to beat us . GO CATS

Rebounding, rebounding, rebounding.

Florida started the 1st half with like a 7-1 rebounding advantage. They were up big. We won the rebound battle the rest of the 1st half after that slow start. We went on an impressive run and took a 10 point lead.

Then we let Florida win the rebounding battle 7-1 or 8-1 to start the 2nd half. They closed the gap and again looked like the better team. We started rebounding better. We stretched the lead back out.

Florida is very athletic. Florida is one of the best offensive rebounding teams in the country. We also got lazy on some of those. We ball watch. We don't always box out. Our guys don't have the same sense of urgency on the glass as the other team.

I think if we fix the rebounding issues, the sky is the limit. If we don't, we'll be sent home a lot earlier than we should.

I agree with some of your statement but our identity is the ability to shoot the ball and those vicious cuts yesterday we witnessed will free our perimeter up . Rebounding does need to get better but from what I witness so far we just seem to be a step slow . The identity of this is the offense

Sure.

But you can't give up easy offensive rebounds time and time again and keep winning. If we take away 3 or 4 of those offensive rebounds, this game is a blow out. Regardless of your identity, you have to rebound it well to win games.

We went on big runs when we were outrebounding them for stretches. They went on big runs when they were outrebounding us for stretches.

Our defense effort got us back in the game and allowed us to pull away. We were not playing D the first 10 minutes of the game. Look at the turnovers and the points off of turnovers.
