Why was the defensive line so pathetically bad this year?

When you have to carry the team each week it takes it toll. UK could never score more than 20 pts in a SEC game this year. The recipe for a lot of losses.

I'm inclined to believe the defense lacked some leadership and generally was sick of busting their ass to watch a pop warner offense consistently put them in shitty position after shitty position.

I feel the worst for Childress. That man played with fire all year long and put his body on the line when others simply couldn't or wouldn't.

First part of the season the talking heads were giving them high props then it was like they hit a wall. Will say, however, that Walker played the season with 2 OL hanging on each shoulder. Guy was blatantly, overtly held worse than any player I've ever seen but could not get a call to save his life. Rybka, Oxendine, Silver especially just vanished.
