why no perrry

You are missing the point.
Right NOW Perry is mid-major level.
Next year, we’ll see.
His JR year I could see him as a contributor.
His SR year possibly as a key top 8 rotation player.

Mills (walk-on) didn’t see the floor as a FR or Soph. I think only late in his JR year , after DA injury did he.
So some are comparing FR Perry to SR Mills, which isn’t fair.
Mills played very little his first two (2) years. Perry did not shoot near as well as Mills did in his last two (2) years.
Perry needs time to develop and I think he certainly can and will. Remember: Point Guard is a new position for him.

It’s such a shame you have kids with elite fundamentals and bball IQ, like Perry, and then kids with elite athleticism, like Khalil Whitney. Too bad we can’t mix their DNA to create a single player, like in “The Fly”

Does anyone remember Fly Williams, who played for Austin Peay, along with Howard Jackson from Lexington Lafayette ??

Some people on here have no clue what they are talking about.

They are throwing away a Freshman who was not ready to contribute as a Freshman, yet was forced into having to start some games for us.

Some of you guys have forgotten that there’s this little thing called improvement that tends to happen for most players as they mature throughout their colllege careers.

And if a coach knows what they are doing, there’s this thing called player development, where the coach works with the player to help them improve.

But most of you guys already know that Perry is a lost cause. After his first year, he is terrible and will always be terrible.

Probably the same guys that said Amari Williams had no business seeing the floor a few weeks back.

When Perry signed, we didn’t think he would contribute until his Junior or Senior year. He stepped in and started, even though way over his head, and at times he struggled and at times he got the job done. Sounds like a typical Freshman.

But I guess he’s trash because he wasn’t a Wooden Award candidate from Day One of walking on campus.

Sheesh!

He hurt his hand in Nashville unfortunately he is the whipping boy on this site - hopefully he doesn’t get Cassidy Rowed this week - I still believe he can help the program - he just needs to knock down open jumpers when he gets his chance 31% shooting is not good enough when your limited in other areas
I’m pulling for him you don’t score 5300 points and lead a rural team to the KHSAA title and not be a hooper
Pope put Perry in position to be a whipping boy. Albeit he was forced to. Not playing in the ncaa probably had very little with his hand and more to do with the fact this guy will need 4 years to figure out how to compensate for his weaknesses. I hope he stays and works hard in practice and senior year he can be a crafty player for us.
