Arkansas had the better athletes and the better coach tonight.
I think it sucks too but that’s the way it is.
Popes lineups were mystifying for much of the game.
Perry will never be an impactful player here.
Chandler is an obvious project but played significant minutes. Ok on defense but a scoring liability.

Our bad decisions are so bad that they are in another category. They aren’t just risky passes, they are passes that anyone on earth would expect to be a turnover. We would happily pass to a guy with 3 people guarding him. It’s just weird.

Pope couldn’t have had the team as motivated as Arkansas was. It’s just human nature. Z, Thiero, and Wagner had this game circuled on the calendar for 10 months.

Revenge is a hell if a motivator.

Poor night for Pope. I think the simplest thing to have done was change up defenses and confuse them a bit very early in the game. Maybe a little over confidence by Pope that they could beat them easily playing man. And Arkansas’ shooting snowballed on them.

We were going up against a team that has athletes and they were HIGHLY Motivated. This wasn’t a case where 2 teams were motivated going in. Only 1 team had motivation. This has nothing to do with our team. Yes our defense sucked as it has all year. But Arkansas would have made those 13 threes if they were wide open or if they were being suffocated. Stop bashing pope. This is as a tough game for him. All the pressure on us and going against a team that was playing like their hair was on fir

This was a bad loss. There’s no sugar coating it.

Hard to blame it on the coach though.

On the whole this team has played far better than their talent.

That’s on the coaching.

We are still a top 15 team without top 15 talent.

That is also coaching. I wish Pope had done some things different tonight but he sees these guys every day. He knows better than anyone how to play them.

We are also down our top 2 point guards.

This is still a bitter pill to swallow.

But Pope didn’t miss 9 free throws.

Pope didn’t turn it over 13 or 14 times.

At what position did we have a better player tonight? I can’t think of one.

To beat good teams we have to out execute them, we have to take care of the ball and make our free throws.

We did none of that tonight. Good coaches can have bad games too.

This loss is worse because of the emotional aspect.

But this team is going to do good things this season still.
