Why is it that SEC wins natty

Dykes should know better than to talk about SEC teams playing out of conference teams in week eleven, those games are rivalry games making them just as emotional and hard to win as league games. I have noticed coaches who don't play SEC teams like to talk like that but want no part of SEC teams. Standford's coach was another talking like that.

Well, once every decade the Sooners or the Ohio St. tree nuts will win and proceed to sing from the rooftops how the SEC will not dominate the college football landscape no more, & “ we’ve played some pretty tough conference games too”, and blah blah blah.

But the horned frogs didn’t look like they belonged on the same field as the UGa team.

It is simple..

1. The below recruiting rankings happen like this nearly every year for past 7 years. UGA and Bama in top 3 just about every year.
2. Kirby and Saban have elite talent...but they are both elite coaches. Both have moved away from run/ball control offenses to explosive passing schemes. So you have to defend the box and be physical and run with them on the back end. Also, they care about defense...which most Big12/Pac 10 simply do not coach as hard.

Going forward...I just dont' see this changing going forward. College football is turning into a NFL model AFC vs. NFC. Big 10 is one conference and SEC is the other. Huge TV deals are making these 2 conference even richer vs. Big 12, PAc 10 and ACC...not to mention the CUSA, etc... comers. This along with NIL, the silly transfer portal where Bama/UGA can go shopping for elite players on lesser teams.

So, this is only going to get worse. Maybe some other SEC and Big10 teams can win more...but even that I don't see happening.

This year kind of confirms that a two loss SEC team is probably better than most one loss teams from other conferences. The two teams that played for the Big 12 championship were beaten bad by Georgia and Alabama. One hundred and something to twenty something combined. No big 12 team really deserved to be in it, it’s clear now the 4 best team were NOT in it.

Who were the 4 best teams?

Georgia had 66 4 and 5 Star players on that team last night.
As long as that's going to be allowed to happen I'm not watching college football anymore.

66!! I mean unless you got the same amount that they do... you have almost no chance.

Kentucky be lucky if we have five on the whole team. College football is a farce. Absolute farce.

I would limit teams to 10 five star players and 2o four Stars at any given time.

College football needs to be evened up and as long as teams are allowed to have 66 of the top end players and the other team only has 17 it's not fair at all.

66 to 17 stars.
65-7 score. I'll be damned.

I don't give a damn who the coach is it Georgia you will make the playoffs on accident with that much talent. I don't respect Kirby Smart one damn bit or ****ing Saban....y'all win with 70 ****ing five star players. Yeah you should be real proud of that.

Do it at Kentucky. I bet every damn dollar I got says neither one of you can win here.

Those ****ing announcers were acting like Georgia was really doing something last night. If you call taken 66... 4 and 5 Star players and beating the hell out of a team that only had 17. yeah you did something.... you're legally cheating that's what you did and do. Every damn year. Bunch of shit.

Just my opinion and I am surely in the minority but this total dominance by the SEC is not doing college football in general any favors. I have to believe it's going to kill interest in other parts of the country to where it becomes a regional sport, if it's not there already. The Bamas and OSUs have always been powerhouses, but just like money in America, the gap between the haves and the have nots is now a Grand Canyon. And with NIL and open transfer portal activity, the chasm will continue to widen.

There are lots of teams in a lot of P5 conferences that draw 30 to 35,000 fans if that. Even in the SEC, if there weren't visiting fans buying tickets, would Vanderbilt average 20,000 fans a game? I think I read (someone can check me on this) that attendance has fallen in college football as a whole seven years in a row. And some of this is same as a lot of other sports, I guess.

Everybody already knows the preseason top 3 this year will be Georgia, Alabama and Ohio State, or maybe three of the top 4. I don't think there's really any solution but it's not as much fun as it used to be at least to me.

pretty much every year? Because the southern united states produces the most talent. I know, thanks captain obvious.
Why is it that the sun rises in the east and sets in the west? Why is it that if A+B=C, then 5A+5B=5C? Why do cows moo? There are certain laws of nature and science that just are.

Well I mean if you call the laws of nature and science being that all the slaves were in the south in the 1800s and now their ancestors are the athletes. There's a reason why there's all that talent in the south. There ain't nothing to be proud about in the situation in my opinion.

If I was African-American I tell everything in the South to kiss my ass. Top to bottom left to right.

Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State and as bad as I hate to say it, Tennessee, we’re the best 4 teams.
So the regular season shouldn't mean anything? Bama losing two games and barely beating TAMU and Texas in the closing seconds shouldn't count against them. They didn't beat anyone all year. Their best win? K-State in the bowl game.

They put in the four teams that belonged there. OSU had Georgia beat. Michigan let the country down by getting stunned by TCU. It's just one of those things where we would see in March Madness. Team stuns a big dog and then gets rocked the next game.

College football suffers from a parity problem. What are you supposed to do when the same teams get the best of the best every single year and have the most resources? It's not like NCAAF has a salary cap that can control stacking talent.

One, the SEC is the toughest conference in the land, play an SEC schedule and Bama's record is great for any other team in the SEC. There are at least 5 sometimes 6 SEC teams ranked throughout the season, so they did play somebody, lost to two top ten teams on the final plays of the game. Georgia has always had some of the best talent through the years, just hasn't had the coach to get it done until now. The best four teams were not there, Georgia stomped the same Michigan team last year. Ohio State prolly was one of the top 5 or 6 but they also got blown out on their home field and should have dropped more than they did. The ones that call the shots, then would have to put LSU or Tennessee in and they didn't want more than 1 SEC team in it despite them being worthy of it. Then TCU gets beat in the big 12 championship to a team that lost three games in a conference not near as strong as the SEC.

Most SEC states either don’t have an NFL team or it came long after college football established itself as the top sport in the state. It definitely means more.
That's a great point. Alabama didn't follow that rule though. I mean they just don't have the city big enough to have a team I guess. It does seem like Alabama should have a NFL team. As many players as they put into the league they deserve to have a team. Of course Kentucky should have a NBA basketball team. Certainly deserve it with all the players we put into that League

I'm not sure if your post is dumb, or just plain racist. You know there's black people north of the Mason-Dixon Line as well, right? And you're aware that white people are allowed to play football as well, right? EDIT: One more thing, those were the laws of the country, not the laws of nature and science.

Racist? You might want to reread that again ..pronunciate. and yes I know there are African Americans in the north and they are pretty smart to be there and play there. If im African-American the South has nothing for me. Ever.

1. It was for damn sure not TCU....this should be so obvious by now.
2. I'd argue UGA, Michigan, Ohio St and TN were the 4 best teams.
Tn. before QB injury. Even with QB Bama beats them in Tuscaloosa. So I would have removed TN. and added Bama.

You must of stroked out during that game last night. You have posted some of the most ignorant posts I have ever read on here. Probably need to take your meds and sleep for about a week!!

I wonder if the additional 1-2 games will effect SEC teams after a long regular season in Conference and the Conference Championship?

The other Conferences will have a LOT less wear and tear coming into the playoffs.

I firmly believe that competition is an ENORMOUS factor in the dominance.

I also believe that the extra game or two could drastically hurt all teams from the SEC after an already long year of tough games.

Don't know what to tell you, it's a competitive business and not everyone gets a participation trophy. Coaches all recruit, build relationships and present their product. Right now Kirby's staff is very good at those things and kids like what they are selling, the chance to win rings and get developed to their max. If that isn't for you it's probably a good idea follow through with giving it up. Kirby, Saban and day are not going to say we have enough talent in this class, let's stop recruiting for a couple of months, Kirby was calling HS coaches today.

Tskware is a uc fan, so he is sympathetic to the struggles of midmajors. As a UK fan, I have a different philosophy. My philosophy is, instead of whining about Georgia and Alabama, build a team that can beat them. I guarantee that Stoops is trying, and even if it doesn't happen, I'm glad that he's not inclined to just give up.

A 12 team playoff will be fun. We'll usually see the number of SEC teams in the top 12 match the number of teams in the "Final Four" other than years where there are five or six SEC teams in the top 12. Occasionally, Ohio St. or Clemson will intrude, though.

I am with you, I am a competitor. I know Stoops and UK will get us one day, don't mean I will like it, but I know it's going to happen.

Thank, and appreciate the kind words. But in addition, I really miss following the national scene, why bother much at the moment, we have seen the same movie before and know the ending.

This morning in the paper, they had a way too early top 25 for 2023, and the top 4 were . . . . wait for it, Georgia, Michigan, Alabama, Ohio State.

Who saw that coming?

They were gonna do the same to Michigan. UGA got screwed by getting OH state as the 4 seed. Much better team than either Mich/TCU.
OSU had a meltdown against Michigan earlier in the year. They play that game over and OSU rolls them.
