He surrounds himself with a great staff who can insulate him from some of the demands.
He and Robic have worked together for 18 years. I would think Robic knows Cal almost as well as Ellen does.
Barbee and Cal have worked together 10 years and Payne will be entering his 6th year.

That kind of loyalty and familiarity creates the kind of trust within a staff that allows someone like Cal to delegate. Although his personality probably doesn't lend itself to delegating; he's smart enough to understand it's importance. And obviously, he doesn't mind the "ambassador" aspect of the job. He handles that better than anyone ever has or probably ever will.

He's 56 - not really that old. I honestly believe that as long as he continues to surround himself with quality assistants who stay long-term, he'll be at Kentucky for another 10 years, as long as he continues to win, which I see no reason why he won't. In 10 years, he'll only be 66; 1 year younger than Steven Tyler is now. ;)
