With Cal coached games, the outcome of any given game could go either way. There were no guaranteed wins. There was no lead that guaranteed a victory. You had to pay close attention until the very last minutes/seconds to find out the outcome of most games.
Now we have this new regime where very little is going to be left to chance. Why even bother watching a whole game when the outcome is determined within the first ten minutes. Why even bother turning on games against outmatched opponents at all? Where’s the drama? The suspense? The opportunities for trying to coach from the couch? What are we supposed to debate and be at each other throats over after the games are over? Boring.
