Why does Cal slow the games down?

Correct. Wisconsin and HIS time at Memphis. That was my bad. Just seems like he has an opportunity to blow teams out but does the prevent offense thing. Not just this year, it is all his years. I'm sure he likes it that way sometimes to get his team comfortable in close situations. Just kinda drives me nuts. Like i said, a win is a win all day.

UK was never gonna blow out Wisconsin. That was going to be a war regardless. And the Memphis game was a war too vs. KU. I don't blame Cal for his two best FT shooters bricking 3/4 FTs the last 30 seconds that would have put the game away.

Your point is fair for more meaningless games, but not on those two IMO. We can agree to disagree.

So, no 30 second shot clock?

If you're up 20 with 8 minutes left, by using 30 seconds to score and playing tough defense to cause the opponent to use 30 seconds to get a shot, you are making it very difficult to come back. Ideally giving the opponent 8 chances to score or forcing them to foul to extend the game. That's why he says if you can't make Free Throws, he can't play you at the end of the game.

That's also why Cal wants every one of the opponents shots to come hard and contended. On the offensive end, he expects his guards to create a shot for themselves or a team mate in the last 5-8 seconds of the shot clock. Unfortunately last night, Tyler got hung up a couple of possessions and turned the ball over a couple more at the end.
