Why do we ever get our hopes up with Calipari?

Phil Jackson couldn’t win with our guys tonight. Normally it’s on Cal, don’t get me wrong but this is completely on the players. Lazy, not invested and making middle school level mistakes isn’t on Cal. Our guys got punked, plain and simple.
Cal fanboys love blaming the players. It’s their go to move when their idol is embarrassed.

Stick with Cal. Both Wildcats will git ur done👍

Doubt Phil would have Edwards in the game...
Or take RD out when he was playing so well....

Again we will have to agree to disagree, we’ve had plenty of guys return for more than one year. We’ve had a few guys leave when they weren’t ready but for the most part, no one, including Reed is gonna turn down lottery type money.
And that goes back to Cal being unwilling to develop a "program" and instead just focusing on the guys he recruited. He showcases his recruits so that they will drafted and hopefully (in Cal's mind) continue the drip-drip-drip effect it has on recruiting. Often this is done to the detriment of the program, which is why Cal has WAY UNDERACHIEVED given all the talent he's had.

Cal gonna Cal. He is clueless on lineups/subbing/ and offense.

Can a leopard change his spots.

That said give SC some credit. Cal’s fooling around kept them in the game then they got hot and took over.

We lose Saturday and I'll be shocked if we aren't out of the Top 15.
They are gonan lose Saturday because is the exact same scenario as the A&M game. A desperate team who is playing for the season. Kentucky won’t guard them at all and will let them shoot multiple wide open 3s and get beat off the dribble

Agree to disagree.

i don’t get my hopes up with Cal. I just sit back and wait for it to happen. Many Cal fans say the lineups are working great this year. I guess if you like 3 losses to unranked teams. I still can’t believe how some people think a zone defense every now and then wouldn’t help. We can’t stay in front of anybody. Some say it shows weakness. What exactly does our current defense show? I don’t think it is showing strength. Every game they talk about how bad our defense is.

That shows how far we've fallen. We're already on pace to lose 10 to 11 games this year. That's not Kentucky basketball.
All I’m saying is that about 3 hours ago everyone was excited and rightfully so.

We could lose 10 games but I’d take the under. It seems like this team is prone to stepping on its d!ck as seen in the uncw game. But then they came back to beat unc. Who the hell knows with this group?

There is this thing called discipline and toughness and it can be instilled into a team. Cal had let Klutch run the team.. Bradshaw and Edwards need tough love to toughen them up and cal won’t do it

Didn't fool me. I have had 0 expectations of any Cal team doing anything in the tournament since he got that fat contract to go with his gut. I was predicting 10+ losses at the start of the season and that opinion hasn't changed. Cal is just in cruise control. Recruit some high star level players, roll the ball out there, and just let them disappoint until they go early to the NBA. Rinse and repeat.

This was the Cal death knell for me. I was almost out on him before the season. Kansas game roped me back in, and to his credit he has tried to change offensively. He just has too many flaws at this point, flaws even the most talented offensive roster in college basketball—with no less than 7 future NBA players—cannot overcome.
