Why are people freaking out?

false...you want him back because it helps uk wins more games next year.

No he's going to give the school a bad name because this will open the door for Cal's players to leave no matter what, drafted or D league but yeah I also want him back for us to win to. But this one has to do with players now leaving to only go to the D league.

We see them go and 99% should have. Even I thought at the time Johnson should have went (was wrong)

This gives Cal a black eye, and players shouldn't hate playing college basketball this much. He could have been drafted by year 4. Maybe even next year 35-50.

Some serious retard being thrown out in this thread. I will let people diagnose for themselves where it is coming from but should be pretty obvious.

Please help me understand the notion that Cal has any say in whether these kids come or go. B/c if you think otherwise, you are wrong. He may act like he is pushing for a guy to leave or stay, but that is marketing & salesmanship.

Truth is, these guys all leave or stay based on their own individual situations. Those situations vary greatly. EVERYONE pretty much understood IB was gone after this year bc he was not overly interested in his degree, or his overall studies.

So, please those with an agenda toward Cal, spare us the sanctimonious crap of "Cal should not have let IB go". It is less than honest and flat out BS.

You have a problem with the OAD system, take it up with the NBA. If they change the rules Cal will change his system. If they don't, he will continue to crush it. Along with K & Self & all the other highly successful coaches.

You do realize that its the player and not the coach that decides this right? Folks looking at the program have enough sense to know when a player made a good decision or bad. They are kids. It happens. They don't judge Cal because a player did or didn't do the right thing. Briscoe wasn't forced out.

The program didn't collapse after Orton. Its not going to now. Jeez, people, use some common sense.

Today it doesn't matter what Mason or Briscoe was ranked in high school. We are talking 2 years removed from such rank for Briscoe and 4 for Mason. I used the example because they had similar sophomore year and are both smaller, stockier guards. Mason shoots the ball better. Briscoe rebounds and finishes better. I think both are in iffy spots to be drafted. But I think Mason has the better chance. I don't see why some say Briscoe couldn't play is way into the 25-30 discussion of 2018 or 2019 draft.

Doesn't work because Mason never had the opportunity to go pro.

He's 5'10 and wasn't considered a prospect, whereas IB is much bigger and was scouted by the NBA before he ever arrived.

Mason was a 4 yr player from day one.

Briscoe was the #1 PG thinking he was a OAD, then played SF for 2 years.

I don't disagree that HS rankings are garbage once they hit college, but the point I'm trying to make is that Mason was on a 4 year plan and nothing changed.

IB obviously had a different path in mind all the way back to his JR year in HS.

Looks like apples and oranges to me.

To be honest I can't think of anyone to compare with IB...???

What's your deal with Kentucky and people from Kentucky??
Boston Cat has at least 2 problems(1) he is on a mission to straighten out our thought process here(anyone trying to do that is under great stress)(2) He has Rick Pitino syndrome,in other words he is right about everything,(whether he is or not)

Even if he improves his jumper to the point where he can consistently hit more than a third of his threes in the next year or two (unlikely) he still isn't a first round talent. His physical shortcomings are well documented at this point. When given the opportunity to run things he struggled. Its unlikely he's going to be around in the league for very long even if he were to stay two years.
