For many years, I thought the draft was rigged and I knew for months that the NOLA Hornets were going to get the #1 pick in the draft after the way the league handled the Paul trade and even last year, you could make a case for them trying to lure Lebron back to Cleveland. However, it's just a conspiracy theory.

But who wins it tonight? Knicks? T-Wolves? Lakers? 76ers?

I hate the Knicks but I somehow feel they will win. Heard a sportscaster talking about all the draft picks by the T-Wolves and how they sometimes had the mostly like chance to get the first pick and did not.

I'm going with the Knicks. Conspiracy or not....they were terrible this year. The NBA wants them to be good and this is the year for them to land a quality big man a la 1985 with Patrick Ewing.

Well the TWolves are supposedly the only team left that would take Okafor over Towns. So with the way this spring has went I'm gonna say the TWolves get it.

This is interesting:

From John Schuhmann,writer for NBA.com:

"The Lottery results will be broadcast on ESPN at 8:30 p.m. ET. But they'll be known by 20-25 people about an hour before then.

Each team will have a representative in a separate room, joined by NBA officials and a few members of the media. The league will hold the drawing of the top three picks there (picks 4-14 go the other 11 teams in order from the lowest winning percentage to the highest), and the people in the room will have no means of communicating with the outside world until the results are revealed on TV. (We'll show the actual drawing here on NBA.com after the broadcast.)

Those 20-25 people will know the future of the NBA, but they'll have to keep it to themselves for a little while."

If true, it sounds like they're trying to build my least favorite team ever.

I'm going with Philly as well.

Knicks with the #2
TWolves with #3

Lakers may sneak up there at #2 though..

Of course the Knicks fall to #4....that franchise can't catch a break.

If TWolves get #1 they probably take Okafor. Hoping it's a team other than them.

Lmfao the Knicks got Knicked so hard.
#4 pick in the draft.

Maybe some recruits should watch this and see Karl Anthony Towns, Nerlens Noel, MKG!!!!

And the number one pick goes to the T Wolves.

Dang, probably means KAT isn't the number one pick.

Although, likely puts him in LA with Randle.

Okafor to Minnesota to play with Wiggins and Shabazz?
Towns to Los Angeles to play with Bryant and Randle and potentially be the face of that franchise after Kobe retires?

Yeah, I'd be okay with that.

@chadfordinsider: Will be very interesting to see what Wolves do here. They are the one team that NBA folks think could take Okafor over Towns

Wolves and Lakers will each have 2 young stars to build around. I'm guessing the Lakers can lure in more free agents than Minnesota once they get Kobe's salary off the books.

Minnesota is going to have the last 3 #1 overall picks on their team next year....crazy!

But that also means he will probably play in Los Angeles and not Minnesota. Potential for him to become the face of the league. This is one instance that being the 2nd pick would be a very good thing for young Karl-Anthony.

Still think the T'Wolves take KAT if they are thinking sanely, though I'm hoping that the Duke media homers work overtime in the ear of their owner and GM and convince them to take Okafor. Whether you're a Laker fan or not (and I am not), KAT as one of the faces of the league in the huge LA media market would be a great thing for UK.

I hate garbage organizations getting top picks where there is zero chance they will ever do anything. The T-Wolves are horrible and always will be. I hate seeing guys like Towns have to waste 4 years in a terrible city where no free agent wants to play.

Looks like that sneaking suspicion of the Lakers getting #2 actually happened.

I am torn on this now. I don't want Towns to go to Minnesota but if he goes #1, that will give him more #1 picks than Coach K because as of now, they have...

Cal
Rose
Wall
Davis

Coach K
Brand
Irving

As a Lakers fan, I hope Towns drops to 2, but the consolation price is by no means a big letdown. T-Wolves and Lakers both win big. Knicks suck as usual, love it. They can still get a very good player at 4 though.

You mean a rising young team with Wiggins and LaVine?

Define rising. Wiggins looks like he will be pretty good. LaVine won the dunk contest, which doesn't mean much, but I guess. The Lakers already have a better player in Jordan Clarkson. Towns can't go wrong being 1 or 2, but if he is looking for team NBA success the Lakers are the easy call.
