Who is the top 4?

Depends on the ACC championship game. If FSU wins, I’ve got 1. Michigan 2. Washington 3. FSU 4. Texas. Replace FSU with Alabama if they lose.

I agree that FSU wouldn’t be favored against
Bama (or Georgia or Ohio State for that matter) in a theoretical matchup, but for better or worse, leaving out an undefeated Power 5 champion is so unprecedented that I don’t expect it to happen.

I think the consensus is if Mich wins is this

1.Mich
2. Washington
3. Texas
4. Bama.

Bama handles Mich
Texas beat Wash

Bama vs Texas in rematch

Yeah, this is why we're going toward a 12 team play off.

Four spots just don't give all the best teams a fair chance.

Aesthetically Michigan, Bama, Washington, Texas just looks good on paper. Checks all the ratings, demographics, geographic, media market boxes....

You have West Coast, you have middle America, you have the south, you have Texas...

There's not a potentially bad match up/runaway/snoozer in that group...

FSU doesn't make my list, win or lose. Michigan, Washington, Texas, Alabama You don't put a lame horse on the track. With no idea what's up with Rademaker, forget FSU. The idea of putting them in the CFP when their QB tonight is a frosh making his first start is absurd to me. Hell, if they win a close one tonight, do we have an argument? 🤣🤣🤣 ACC is weaker than B12 and dead PAC right now.

1. Michigan with win out with loss
2. Washington
3. Georgia
4. Alabama
5. Texas

A Michigan loss 2 through 5 moves up one
I agree with this. UGA. Is still one of the best 4 teams. FSU shoukd not get in. But they will if they win and get trucked byvwhoever they play.

Michigan
Washington
Texas
Alabama/Georgia

Texas already beat Bama at Bama, I wouldn’t think Bama jumps them and Texas won their championship decisively. If Fla St beats UL 3-0, would be interesting to see what they do.

Surely Rodemaker is back for the playoffs. A 13-0 FSU almost has to be included. I've said for a while that 6 was what I considered the perfect number and this year it'd include everyone with a legit claim. Still think 12 is too many but what do I know?

Too many is better than too little imho. At least every conference champion is in. Sure 12 seeds have little to no chance. They may occasionally beat the 1 seed. We’ve seen 16s beat 1s in bball and that is much less likely than a #1 team losing to the #12.

Wasn't the playoff system supposed to do away with this crap?

It will probably be:

Washington
Michigan
FSU
Texas.

It should be:

Georgia
Washington
Michigan
Texas or Bama

I think if Michigan wins they are 1. Washington is 2. Florida State will be 3 if they win and Texas should be 4th. Who you got?
Yup, Michigan, Washington, Florida State and Texas. They aren’t the best teams in the country but it doesn’t matter even though that’s the criteria.
