Who is the all time fan favorite UK player?

Simply can't pick one...although Mash would be it.
80's Turpin, Bowie, Walker, Manuel, Mills
90's Anderson, Delk, McCarty, Walker, Epps
Tubby years Turner (Pitino guy but had to be included), Estill, Patterson(Jack Daniels signed him, but Tubby gets the credit from me)
Cals Cousins, MKG, AD, Noel, WCS, Bledsoe

I may have misinterpreted the question as "my favorite" instead of fan favorite...that would be Richie Farmer, pre-politics, hands down IMO. My "fan favorite" is Hawkins...tough, undersized, blue-collar, humble, etc..

My favorite player of all time is, was, and always will be Andre Riddick, because all he did were my two favorite things in basketball: Blocking shots and dunking.

THE favorite, and I can't believe I haven't seen him mentioned on here, has to be Richie. Richie's put himself through a lot of crap since he left school, but who was more popular in a 4-year stretch?

Jamal Mashburn was certainly a fan favorite and one of the programs most accomplished.

Mashburn received an honorary doctorate of humanities from the University for his contributions to the school, state, and community. [/B]Despite leaving early for the NBA, Mashburn is one of the University's most successful alums[/B]. He owns a variety of businesses, including car dealerships, restaurants, and real estate. How many restaurants? 38 Outback Steakhouses, 39 Papa John's pizza outlets, and three Dunkin' Donuts stores, to name a few. He's also devoted to the community, donating $500,000 to start the Jamal Mashburn Scholarship fund back when he left school back in 1993. The scholarship identifies ninth grade students in the Lexington, Kentucky, area, tracks them through high school, and then awards them a full scholarship to attend the University of Kentucky or Bluegrass Community and Technical College in the event they achieve their academic and personal goals.
If that weren't enough, he's also a founding member, officer, and director of The MAP Foundation, which focuses on youth mentoring; and the Mashburn Family Foundation, which offers programs and support for latch-key children and children of alcoholics and single mothers. Mashburn currently sits on the Board of Directors for the National Forest Foundation and served on the Advisory Board for Central Bank & Trust Company in Lexington, KY from 2005-2008. He also dabbles in commentating, working as an analyst for ESPN from 2006-2010

Chuck Hayes without question.

Really Loved MKG, but you can't really put a one in done in this conversation in my mind.

If the question was "who is your favorite UK player?", then my answer is wrong.

If the question meant the most popular player among UK fans in general while they played at UK, then I'm positive my answer of Rex and Macy is correct for post 1970...

Louie,I saw every game he played thru Cawood's eyes.
My best friend's son is named Kyle................He tried to name his daughter Robey Lee but his wife ut a stop to it.

Mashburn
Charles Hurt
Derk Minifield
James Masters
Eddy Davender
Rob Lock
Leroy Byrd
And all the great players in the last 20 years

I'm 44 just thinking about the players when I was a kid.

Mash
Hurt
Roby
Walker
Bennett
Martinez
Boogie
Swoop
Toomer
Junior
Goose
Anderson
Poy
Booker
Omg. I love them all

My personal favorites:

1. Goooooose: #21 in the program, forever #1 in my heart.
2. Kenny Walker: Like a giant spring someone wound up and set loose on opponents. Still the most devastating dunker in UK history, and unstoppable from 12 feet in
3. Grevey: My first hero; I used to imitate his every move
4. Macy: It would be hard to explain to those too young to remember him just how revered he was here.
5. Derek Anderson: A million dollar smile to go with a million dollar game.
6. PPat: One of the best kids who ever played here, a pure winner and a purely good person
7. Mash: Maybe the 2nd best we've ever had, tied with Issel behind The Brow
8. Knight: A quiet assassin, I was always comfortable when that kid had the ball in his hands
9. Pelphrey: Fiery redhead with a beautiful stroke, forever enshrined as one of the Unforgettables
10. Boogie: What a character, and making a name for himself now in the NBA

Mashburn was one of my faves as a teenager
The whole unforgettable group
I loved the Cliff Hawkins/Gerald Fitch combo
Prince/Bogans
Patterson saved us from going over a cliff
But Chuck Hayes is it, as far as I'm concerned. He would e run thru a brick wall wearing that uniform.

We've had more talent in the last five years than humanly imaginable

80's
Dirk Minniefield
Kenny Walker
Rex Chapman

90's
Jamal Mashburn
Tony Delk
Jeff Sheppard

00's
Patrick Patterson
Chuck Hayes
Tayshaun Prince

10's
John Wall
Boogie
Doron Lamb
^ nice list but Anthony Davis has to be on every list IMHO.

Yea, AD would probably bump off Lamb, but still a bunch of great guys will be left off.
