Who is one former UK player you'd add to this years team?

Can't go wrong with any of AD, Boogie, KAT, or Randle. A consistently dominant inside presence is what this team needs most.

Hard to argue with AD, but a healthy Sam Bowie wasn't chopped liver. Cousins, Turpin...any of those four would be great.

Kenny Walker wouldn't be bad either. That 3 guard, 2 forward lineup he headed up was one of my all time favorite teams.

While we're at it, how bout Jamal Mashburn? Think we could plug him in and improve more than slightly.

It's hard to pick one.

Kind of surprised nobody said Patrick Patterson. He would be a double double machine on this years team IMO

I'd go cameron mills. Not because I think he could help the team, I just want to see somebody sweat gravy.

We need AD more than anyone. AD changed the game at both ends more so than Boogie or WCS. By seasons end AD was hitting mid range jumpers at a high percentage. He was also a better rim protector than Cuz or WCS and he's the best perimeter shot blocker I've ever seen.
This one hurts me to say but I believe KAT would fit in better with this team than Boogie also. I think he was a better shot blocker than Big Cuz but I'd like to check the numbers to compare, just not going to.
Cousins is one of my all time favorites. He's a lot like me. Misunderstood and passionate with an attitude, but off the court, overall great dude with a big heart.

Cousins actually, even more than Davis. We are in great need of position and raw strength. Poythress is still coping with the injury (though much better). Now if we had a healthy moose at the 4, say Gilchrist, Mashburn, Randle,Patterson, etc, then Davis hands down. However, one guy, unlimited strength, gimme Cousins.

I'd have suggested Issel, but we got some modern era bigots, so I tried to stay late 80's or better. Some names that would really contribute too would Magliore (can never remember how to spell his name.), Bowie, Nazr and the list could be long with guys that had ample physical strength. Oh, and lest I forget one of my favorites, Big Mel Turpin. Instant cinder block wall with great hands.

Towns because he gives us better back to the basket scoring on the blocks than AD while giving better D than Boogie...

Karl Towns as a sophomore. I wanted to say Cousins because we need some of his nastiness but Towns would be averaging something like 18pts, 12rbs, 3blks per game on this team.
I was thinking Towns but moreso for his passing. The points and rebounds would have helped but with what we have on the perimeter his passing ability would have been huge.

P.S. The easy answer is AD. I would add him to ANY team to make them better. Towns was my attempt to go another direction.

That's easy. Matt pilgrim and it's not even close. He could rebound like Barkley bang down low like Shaq, and score like pistol Pete....allegedy. We never got to see this physical speciman in a game but based on practice rumors he would of got us to 8 for sure.

Hard to argue with AD, but my first thought was Mashburn. He was a scoring machine, rebounded, could run the point-he was soooo good.

What if Booker and Towns had came back to win a NC? Add them with the guys we have now and we're probably better than last year.

The answer should always be Davis.

Davis in place of WCS last year--we win it all.
Davis instead of Skal this year--we're undefeated.

Unless we have terrible guards--which we don't--the answer is Davis.

Answering from a legitimate, it could've happened standpoint i'd take Dakari all day on this team. He would have drastically improved us in several areas of need and likely would have also raised his draft stock. Win-win.

We sure could use Issel's 33 a game not to mention his toughness. To those of you that never saw him play, you missed something special.

If anyone says anyone other than Anthony Davis they need there UK card pulled.

There's actually several I'd take. Maybe over Davis for this current team. But you couldn't go wrong with him.

No I'm not turning in my fan card.

That is not even human.

And yes I have to agree. Davis was not only the most absurdly freakish player I think I've ever seen at Kentucky, he would perfectly fill the void at our most needed spot.

I love it when posters will say "we didn't know how good he was"

Umm.... NPOY, MVP, National champion. Best single season in UK history?

Yea, we knew. Lol.
