Who gets the Texas job?

Todd Golden is only 39 years old and from Phoenix.
His wife, Megan York, is from San Antonio. She played volleyball at St Mary's in California.
They are the parents of two (2) young boys.
They might want to move closer to home and grandparents.
Plus, he might want to establish his own legacy at Texas and lead them to a national championship.
As of the end of the 2023–24 season, Texas ranks tied for fourth among all Division I men's basketball programs for total NCAA Tournament games won without having won the national championship (40), tied with Kansas State and Notre Dame (40 each), and trailing Oklahoma (43), Illinois (45), and Purdue (49).

Just a thought ...

Would someone like Sean Miller get a look? He was at Arizona, and had the NCAA issues there. Recruited very well, but never really had big time NCAAT success. But he's served his time in 'purgatory' at Xavier. Would another major D1 school give him a 2nd chance?

Another name that absolutely makes sense. Big brand name, big recruiter. Offensive mind. Good choice

I would think he us on a short list. I think they look at the NBA closely. Snyder or Billy D. I don't know if they would jump to Austin.

Only three (3) years older than Mark Pope at 56, he has a lifetime winning percentage of 71.4% and is probably ready for a move ... after two (2) stints at Xavier.

Bungalow Bill, surely you know why they can’t hire Beard? Sean Miller I could see
No. What am I missing? I know about his legal troubles at Tech but that hasn't stopped him from being mentioned for about every P5 job opening including here with many posters wanting him at UK. Now I get it. I forgot he was at Texas when he got in trouble. Senior moment I guess.

I posted last week that the rumor in Nashville was that they were firing Perry and intended to go after Cal.

But there were actually 3 names. Cal, Quinn Snyder and I don’t remember the other.

It ended up making the Austin paper.

You might look that up and see who the 3rd guy is.
