My guess is he will roll the dice and throw....... Dustin Beggs. He pitched Friday afternoon, and will have almost 100 hours of rest before the 5:30 pm start. The other option is Zack Logue, who has pitched very well of late. If he goes with Zack Brown, we have had it, he is 2-11, with an ERA over 6, plus he never seems to get much run support.
Ben Mcdonald of the SEC thinks whoever loses this game is in trouble of making the NCAA tourney, I agree.

Pretty good analysis, I agree we cannot chance going with Hard luck Brown. Beggs is a bulldog, who could go 7 maybe a little more if his pitch count is reasonable.
Logue is improving, good to see, no one knows how he would react on a big stage. I guess I would also go Beggs as 1 and Logue as 1A.

UK's season is on the line. There's no way you can pitch anyone other than Beggs.

The Hoover Met is a BIG ballpark, Bama is not a great hitting team by any means. Their team BA is only .253 and they have hit only 29 home runs, they have no regulars batting .300.
UK hits .273 as a team, Cats have hit 51 Homers, and have 3 starters batting over .300, White .377, Reks .338, and Mahan .311.
Bama's pitching staff has a 3.53 ERA, while the UK staff has a 3.98 ERA. I would say look for a low scoring 2-1 or 3-2 type game, but it will probably be a 7-6 or 6-5 game. BTW the temp. in Hoover this week is forcast to be in the high 80's.

How could a coach or manager go into a prospects home and tell him and parents he is looking out for kid, teach him how to pitch or make it to the big leagues. Henderson pitches this kid yesterday against Mizzou, he throws a 137 pitches, are you freaking kidding me. I don't care what is on the line, part of selling point is to maintain, look out for these kids. I would be outraged as a parent, don't care if he begged out of being taken out.
IMO

Alabama is a pretty solid team, but they really struggle in the bullpen. Their three SEC starters have ERAs of 1.93, 2.65, and 3.51. Those are very good to decent. After that they turn to about 5 different guys and 4 of the 5 have ERAs over 4.00.

I am pretty sure Alabama is going to pitch Nick Eicholtz. Eicholtz did not pitch this past weekend, so I think they are saving him for Tuesday. He has the 2.65 ERA. Eicholtz went 7.2 against us and only gave up 1 earned run in a 2-1 win. He only gave up 3 hits against us at the Cliff.

Not sure what Henderson will do. In 2012 Henderson pitched AJ Reed in the first game of the SEC tournament. Reed had started just 5 games and had only pitched in SEC play 5 times. That sounds a lot like Logue. However, in 2012 UK didn't have to worry about making the NCAA tournament.

I kind of think he'll go with Logue. I don't like the idea too much considering you're asking a guy who has never started an SEC game to go out there and win you a game that might determine your NCAA tournament fate. A guy that has pitched just 2.1 SEC innings this year, and he has to face what will basically be the home team for the tournament. Cody or Beggs would be the best options, IMO, but Cody is out of the picture. Beggs may be out of the picture after going 8 innings and throwing 119 pitches, or at least he might be on a short leash. So, I imagine that Logue is the one. Scary prospect, but he has pitched pretty well.

Sounds like something GH would do, but you HAVE to go with your best pitcher because if you lose that first game you are not going to be playing in the ncaat..the entire team needs to come out firing on all cylinders
