for each and every game?? I keep hearing the home team has a choice of 1 referee, and visitors have no input. In high school, you have a assignor, which does all of this, but probably has nothing to do in D1 sports. Anyone know?
Also, why is Adams, Shows, Sirmons, always doing our games? These 3 names keep coming up on a regular basis, and we all know the outcome.

Interview with head of sec officiating. Looks like they are kind of lost on who will be available when due to the independent nature of contractors.

And this is exactly the problem.

The NCAA needs to open up the checkbook and hire actual professional officials. This independent contractor good ol' boy nonsense is unacceptable, especially when we're talking about a sport that generates hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue.

Been calling for this for a while now. The NFL did it, and their officiating got MUCH better.

The homerism is so bad in the SEC some of these games aren't even worth playing. In too many cases, the officials determine the outcome more so than the players on the court.

Totally agree. The conferences should no longer hire officials.
1. The officials should be hired by the NCAA directly and the NCAA should contract a third party to provide oversight

or

2.The NCAA should hire a third party to supply officials and hire another third party to partner with the NCAA to provide oversight..

Yeah, those 3 are usually trouble. They pop up in too many 'big' games.
