I don't see either happening this year. Hopefully both in 2016...a bowl game on Jan. 1 and a NC in April.
Clearly you do not pay attention...but after last night, I do not have high hopes for it happening in basketball. And to get to one in football we still have a ways to go. A bowl game this year at all would be a great step in the right direction.
Yeah it's not like we didn't win a title in 2012 and make the final game last year and the final four this year. I don't know why anyone would think we aren't going to win another title anytime soon.
Lets see, there were 5 bowl games on the 1st this year, 2 of them were playoffs, but the others had teams with anywhere from 1 to 4 losses. I don't think UK is ready for one of the playoff spots, even winning the SEC might not get you in because of where you start the season ranked, most likely out of the top 25 which would make it a long tough climb to the top 4. But there is a shot at one of the other New Years day bowl games this season, lots of things would have to fall in place, pull a couple of what would be an upset today to get to 8-4. As for the BB team, I don't know who is leaving early but does it really matter? They will head into the season ranked at least top 5, favored to win the SEC and very likely a number 1 seed, after that its a crap shoot, don't play well one night and its over. But logically I would have to say the BB team winning a National championship because it's a real possibility every year with the talent UK brings in. But on the other hand, while UK's talent in football has improved by a huge amount over the last 3 years, but on paper its still quite a bit behind the top 8-9 teams in the SEC.
I think a bowl game IMO. I think the talent is piling up for the football team and it will happen. As for the BB team we have good players come in each year, but just seems its harder to win the big games with the pressure these kids have with being so young. Football players have more time to mature if you have mostly juniors and seniors on the team. And several with the 5th year.
i expect an improvement in football this year but i still think we are year away from being experienced and talented across the board. o-line will improve again yr by yr and defense should get better next year.

National Chamionship.
A starting lineup with Ulis and Poythress and Lee sounds amazing. Basketball will be incredibly good next year. Don't sleep on MBB just because we will likely have to reload again.

I think a bowl game happens first, this season and bowl season is before March Madness. Now winning that bowl game will depend on the matchup, but UK has a good chance and should get to a bowl this season. The 3 giveme games, I think State and Vandy are going to be pretty weak, state is in complete rebuild mode except for Dak and I don't know what direction Vandy is going. Vandy really is a surprise, Stanford was noted for their defense, maybe the guy is Muschamp the second edition. But that means only have to pick up one win out of UF, USC, UGA, UT, Missouri, AU and Louisville..
Probably a basketball championship. Next years team will probably have 7+ high school All-Americans. They could do it as soon as 365 days from now.

Baby steps please, let's get to a bowl game period first, it's gonna take Stoops more time than three years to have UK playing on New Years Day. Also let's be honest we were close to last in the SEC this year in recruiting and not even top 5 last year and it was a much improved year, for UK. I desperately want us to be competitive on the field but lets keep the right kind of perspective when it comes to how the teams gonna perform.
I want a bowl game. I'm pretty tired of all the 40-0 overwhelming hype that bb can't live up to. Let's get a Nashville Bowl and celebrate. I'll even take a trip back to Memphis (and Rendezvous).
