It blows me away that it's even a question for these guys.

Diallo and Bamba are the most talented players.

I see the value of having an experienced shooter, though.

Sometimes the whole is greater than the sum of its parts as they say and it is possible that Johnson is a better fit.

He's a guy who has played enough to know when to shoot and when not to. It seems like our Freshmen SG's do not start to figure this out until February.

He is mature and probably doesn't feel the need to chuck every time he touches it.

He should provide leadership as the only upperclassman on the team.

I want both, but I will be fine with either one.

But something in my gut tells me Johnson is the better fit between him and Diallo.

My gut is wrong sometimes, though.

Glad I don't have to pick between the two.

I hope we land Bamba, I don't think he knows where to go and he hasn't made up his mind, his recruitment is starting to make me feel like watching the Andrew Wiggins Recruitment all over again, that being said four schools left to choose from, UK has a 25% chance for a commitment.

I'm sorry but is this really necessary? I know it's the off season but I think the answer is so obvious that there is no point in this type of thread. All it does is make people think we don't want Johnson and that's not true at all. I think some of you all think that nobody reads these posts except for us. I know your posts wasn't malicious at all, I just don't see what good can come from a post like this. That's all.

I still hold out hope for Bamba.

He is very intelligent and has probably paid attention.

If he has done his homework, he knows UK is his best choice, at least if he wants to be a OAD big man and get drafted relatively high.

I would hope he would pick UK knowing what Cal has done in recent history with big men (Boogie, AD, Noel, Randle, WCS, KAT).

Still, these kids make strange decisions, so who knows?

Hopefully Diallo comes back and we get Bamba and Johnson both signed. If it happens, then I don't see why another deep run wouldn't be in the realm of possibility and likely. Yes I know we'll be young and all, but we would have a very balanced team, with depth at every position. Now it will probably take a while for this team to hit it's stride, but the season is a marathon, not a race, and I truly feel that come next March we should be right back in the thick of things .

In terms of what we would want from a basketball standpoint, the obvious answer is Diallo/Bamba. That combination would make Kentucky an apical team next year. Diallo will stay, or not, based on pre-draft feedback from NBA sources. I think he is staying, but that totally depends on what draft position he is willing to accept this year. Reading the tea leaves, it looks like Johnson is coming but Bamba might not. I suspect the Johnson-Kentucky connection will get sealed by Knox going elsewhere. As many here have already pointed out, Kentucky makes a lot of sense for Bamba. But Calipari often says Kentucky is not for everyone, and Bamba might be someone who doesn't fit here for reasons of personal makeup not apparent to fans.

Bamba is the type of player that you wait on. What's the big deal? It's not anything like that situation last year with Allen and Bolden. We already have Richards. So, what's the harm in waiting it out? I don't get it. Why not? You don't just drop out of a recruitment like this cause you're tired of waiting. That's crazy!

Everything that UK Basketball related w/press or media is controlled by Cal. He will stretch out news to keep us in the news cycle. Notice how each player announced on Twitter on separate days. Cal is the Master of keeping UK Basketball on the minds of the masses.

or nobody. Richards is rated higher than Allen was,
so don't fret, means nothing. SKJ , still a mystery, but
good reports. Great to get Bamba, but no guarnatee

I think that a Richards/Bamba lineup could be a problem.
I would rather have one of Richard or Bamba with Waskington and SKJ at the PF. In that case either
Richards or Bamba might not be happy.
My fear is that we may have lost Hump because Cal
would not commit to him. He would have been the ideal
co C next year sharing pt with Richards.
Now if we get Bamba , all fears go away, but it's
still whoever developes ......maybe Cal gets his
chance to really show his coaching abilities.

You didn't read my post either. There is no harm in waiting. How is it similar to last year at all? I don't get that. We've already got Richards, so there is no harm in waiting at all. There is no guarantee with any player but that doesn't mean you bail out of a recruitment just cause you're tired of waiting. That's silly. He may turn out to be dominate and he's one of the best players we've recruited in a while at that position. Given the fact that there is no risk in waiting, you wait!
