Joe B. Hall: 1978 win over Duke, 1975 win over IU, 1984 over Louisville
Eddie Sutton: 85-51 over Louisville, ?, ?
Rick Pitino: 1996 over Syracuse, 1996 over UMass, 1994 over LSU
Tubby Smith: 1998 over Duke, 1998 over Utah, 80-41 over Indiana
Cal: 2012 over Louisville, 2012 over Kansas, 2011 over Ohio State

If you go by top 10 wins, Cal would win this in a landslide as I had many possibilities for that third win.

Yeah that's tough for Cal. I loved that 2011 OSU game, but I might give the edge to the next game vs UNC. It ended our FF drought and it was at the expense of those aholes.

Cal's loaded with big wins. Throw in UNC from 2011-12 with the Davis block to seal the win.

because we didn't win the title it gets overshadowed but us beating minesota in '97 is one of pitino's greatest wins imo. and although it was regular season i think our embarrassing of #1 florida was one of tubby's greatest wins. top 3? idk.

Sutton'a blow out of UL is a big one. UL was defending national champion and probably at their highest prominence as a program. Sutton called them "little brother " just before the game also.

For Tubby obviously Duke, but I would put Stanford over Utah. We were expecting to beat Utah and they ran out of gas at the end of the game like it was anticipated. But, that Stanford semi-final game went into overtime, we only won by a point, and was the best game Sheppard ever played in my opinion. He kept hitting those clutch shots and I don't think missed any.
Hall was Florida State in the championship year. It was the most courageous move he ever did by benching several starters to begin the second half. I remember watching that game in the student union with one of the first big screen televisions and we were all screaming at Hall,"What is he doing." He lit a fire under this starters and the subs really made great effort, so when the starters came back in it was all over for FSU. If Kentucky had lost to FSU I believe Hall would have been fired as that team was expected to win it all. Of course then beating Michigan State with Magic Johnson and ultimately Duke.

Till you asked this question it never really hit me that Pitino's most famous and best-coached (well for 44:57.9) game was a loss.

Although not the most important wins, and not exactly difficult coaching jobs with the amount of talent available, two of the most pleasing Cal victories came early in the almost-perfect season:

72-40 over KU in November
83-44 over UCLA in December

Good grief, we seemed invincible. And almost were.

Just go watch that UCLA first half again on Youtube. 41 to freaking 7. If you're like me, you'll laugh your way through the whole damn thing.

We have beaten UNC by 39 (Rupp)
U of L by 34 (Sutton)
Indiana by 39 (Tubby)
Kansas by 32 (Cal)
UCLA by 39 (Cal)

Some of those are that school's worst loss ever.
