I’m not saying it would’ve made a huge difference, but he has earned minutes, imo. Moreso than Chandler and Perry, for sure.

We’re not going on a deep run this year, so I’m all about giving guys you expect to be here next year some run. But, of the bench players, I’d be giving Noah the most run.

Kentucky cannot survive this historic SEC slate playing guys like Chandler and Perry. Just not ready. Injuries have sort of forced Pope's hands, though. We never saw Perry when Butler and Kriisa were available. Chandler sat for several games in a row, and all of the sudden he has re-emerged ... but Pope has some blinders with Chandler, it appears.

It’s pretty clear that amongst everyone on the team, Pope wants to see Chandler succeed the most. Chandler is his guy. He was supposed to be his first star recruit.

It’s like Pope is becoming Cal.

Pope is who he is. An ex-BYU coach, who coached in the WAC (4 years, WCC (4 years) and BIG 12 (1 year).
Best finishes were WAC, 2nd twice, WCC, 2nd twice and BIG 12, 5th once.
Win percentages are: WAC .579, WCC .650 and BIG 12 .679.
He made the NCAAT twice with BYU, losing in the first round both times.
He has not demonstrated solid qualifications for this job. He will have to grow into it. Hopefully, he can do so.
GO CATS !!

Actually, Pope did not want to see Lanier and Nellie Davis have career nights against us. Chandler has length and athleticism and did a good job guarding both of them.

Chandler did fine on defense. But he is terrible on the offensive end. Either he has lot confidence or his skills are atrocious. I’d lean towards it’s more so confidence.

It’s not inaccurate to say he’s one of our more athletic players. My guess is with Butler possibly done for the season, Pope thinks it’s worth the gamble and long term investment to try to work the rust off Chandler faster than planned. We need perimeter defense badly and Davis was mostly contained when Chandler was on him.

I do think Noah should’ve gotten time ahead of Perry last night and moving forward. That was a mistake.

We’re short handed. It is what it is right now. Either try to develop Chandler and Noah or ride the starters 35 minutes.

Chandler had a better chance on D against Arkansas superior athleticism than Noah. It's was worth a shot. Noah would not have been the difference in this game.

Arkansas was too athletic and aggressive for Perry, Chandler, Almanor , Carr and Noah.
Agree but Noah would have been a better rebounder and shooter and playing Chandler ahead of him proved to be very wrong. Chandler has not demonstrated much to me in terms of shooting or rebounding and his defense is just OK.
