Where UK Stands with Recruits After Peach Jam

Here's my best guess about where the top recruits will head to in HS Class of 2018:

Langford: IU
Quickley: UK
Bol Bol: USC
Williamson: UK
Barrett: Duke
Reddish: Duke
Garland: Duke
Tre Jones: Duke
Louis King: UK
Naz Reid: LSU
Jordan Brown: Zona
Simi Shittu: Duke

Thorton and Jackson sends blessings.

Allen is the only proven scorer on the roster so he"ll be thrilled to be able to go back to being a spot up shooter with an elite PG distributing the ball. He should get as many shots as he wants as Duke's only proven 3 point shooting option.

Duval is known as a pass-first unselfish PG. Bagley and Carter are known as versatile, positionless bigs who can both protect the rim and defend out to the perimeter.

This sounds like wishful thinking from UK fans that every roster Duke has will be dysfunctional going forward. Lightning is unlikely to strike twice with injuries/Coach K's health/another Allen tripping incident.

Why wouldn't everything you say apply to UK as well? You mention Bolden being unhappy but UK has Vanderbilt, Richards, SKJ, Gabriel and PJ Washington who all want cracks playing the 4 or 5.

Bolden will probably still get about 20 mins a game.

Never said it wouldn't be an issue for UK. We weren't talking about UK's flaws. We have plenty. We were talking about Duke.

You Duke fans have been coming over here and proclaiming yourselves champions every since K won it in '15 with Freshmen OAD players (totally ignoring the fact that you had some very good upperclassmen leading the way).

You guys fail to notice the flaws you have. UK fans point them out and you still try to justify why you still think your squad is invincible.

Back before the '15-16 season, you guys talked about how good you would be. UK fans pointed out that K had very little scoring punch inside and Thornton was not ready for prime time at the PG. How did that season go?

Then last summer, it was worse. You guys were unbeatable. We told you that Giles, after two knee surgeries, was not going to dominate and you guys didn't have an "true" PG. Yet that was just UK fans and their "wishful thinking." How did that season go?

With Bagley, K will start 4 Freshmen and a Senior. They will have one 5-star Soph coming off the bench. Super young. Super thin. Several guys that are use to being the top scoring option. Lots of egos to manage. Lots of stars, not any "glue guys" like you need to win a title.

Sounds like you have blue tinted glasses on, if you think the Devils have the perfect team and will not experience bumps in the road.

Ya'll will be the favorites on paper, but who cares about paper champions?

You should cut down the nets, but it rarely turns out like it should.

Heavy is the crown. Especially on Freshmen heads. We know this very well.

All the pressure is on Duke... IF they get Bagley.

I was perusing an article about Reddish's recruitment and him saying Duke is not his leader. The interesting part was in the comments section, where Derryck Thornton's father made a comment. I grabbed a couple of screen shots, thought it was interesting.

Did none of you not see the article where Bagley's dad shot down the reclassification. They asked him about it and he said "ask the reporters...they are the ones that made all this up!"

You mention lightning striking twice...then Allen tripping incidents. You realize it striked twice there...right?

You forgot to add that every player going elsewhere on that list will eventually transfer to Duke.

It would not surprise me any to see cal sign both reddish and Barrett, he 'recruits Canada really good and reddish is not stupid, he knows what coach will best put him in position to get drafted the highest..

I can just see it at Peach Jam- Bill Self rolls into Augusta Hooters backslapping all the media geeks, patting his head to make sure the rugs still on, sends a couple pitchers of domestic drafts to Dauster and Goodman, whispers "off-the-record" about how good they're sitting with Quickly, Williamson, Barrett and Langford.

What a great guy. Can't believe Kansas is getting every big recruit AND going to the Final 4 again this year.

I don't see Barrett and Reddish at the same school.

Just seems these guys never tell the whole story. Here is what Bol really said. http://www.sportingnews.com/ncaa-ba...world-championships/7z5nc98qcy891tb5yw9ojeo0d

Here is what Bagley said at the peach jam. Just love how the rest of the story is lined out.
Bagley, a 6-foot-11 power forward from Chatsworth, Calif., has three official visits lined up: Duke, Arizona and Southern California. As for Kentucky?

“Yeah, eventually we’ll get to Kentucky,” Bagley said at Peach Jam on Thursday. “I only have three right now and I’m going on those visits to see what happens next.”

Don't be surprised to hear of an official visit pop up, the key thing to watch for in this recruitment is if he commits on either of his other visits. If not then this could be interesting..
