Where UK Stands with Recruits After Peach Jam

I expected to lose Bol after he was cut from the USA team. These guys egos are ultra delicate. Whether valid or perceived, They, or their handlers don't take being slighted too kindly. Bagley doesn't seem too enthusiastic either with his "getting around to visit UK sometime" speech. I think we need one of them to patrol the paint and score inside. It doesn't sound too promising at this point.
Williamson is the best player in this class as far as being able to dominate in college for a year because of his NBA strength and body. He has a motor that produces, and not just burn up gas with frenetic energy. He is a scorer. He finds a way to finish plays. He blocks shots like a center. You will never out physical him no matter what your size is. He's tough and intimidating. His shot is decent and will get better. May get a silly charge or two, but the other guy might get a broken bone or two trying to step in lol. UK fans will eat this guy up. They appreciate Beast Mode players. By the last reports it is looking good to land him.

The Bol thing kind of pisses me off!! He should be ours!! Cal must see something but not sure there. I thought he was almost as a lock as Zion and Quickley.. That is a bummer there!! That is like giving a stud player away.. Seems Cal would want all his main Targets on Team especially if they are top 5 nationally.. Never ever have I questioned Cal on recruiting tactics but this one here has me scratching my head.. 1st time in recruiting I have ever thought about 2nd guesding Cal.. Top 2 stud bigs and we are going to Miss out on both of them? 1 of 2 Bolo and Bagley was a must for a run at title in 18-19 IMO. 1st time im lil nervous about class..

Can King or Reddish play the 2? One good thing is we should have Baker back as a pure shooting guard. Maybe SGA as well. It'll be interesting to continue to follow how this plays out.

Stud Big is what I am more worried about.. We will have the guards and Wings IMO!!
I feel like it's kind of hard to read too much into this really. The writer (and I think all recruiting experts) base all the negativity to Bagley off of a few things: Bagley saying 'we'll get to KY eventually', his praise for K, and the fact that if he reclassifies he will never take an official to KY (tho I'm pretty sure he's already visited). Duke may very well get Bagley, but to act it seems a bit silly to me to act like he's Duke to lose and KY has almost no chance when Cal was watching him a few days ago and because so much can change in recruiting.
With Bol, I don't think him being cut was a positive. With that said though, the writer bases everything off Bol saying he was disappointed. I'm not sure who wouldn't be disappointed in that situation. The writer goes on to say that staying out west is a more likely option and mentioned AZ. Sean Miller was on the committee of individuals who cut Bol (Ik it probably looks worse on Cal since he's the main coach).

Don't care what the crystal ball says. Many of those guys making predictions are random nobodies. Duke will have a top class, I'm not disputing that.
The fact that you're putting that much stock in the CB makes it even more funny. What did the CB say this time the last few years? UK's chance of landing Barrett is better than Duke's.

No, Duke is going to add Marvin Bagley to this year's roster though once he reclassifies which is in the works.

Expect major chemistry issues on the 2017-18 team.
First and foremost, Bagley and Carter both want to play the 4. That means a top 5 player will be playing out of position in as system where position matters.
Secondly, Bolden will be on the bench again. He won't be thrilled. Especially, since rumor has it he was told he would start this time around (and probably was told this as a Freshman coming in).
Then there is Allen. A Senior with major attitude issues. The only Senior on the club. A guy with the green light to shoot whenever he wants. It's his last chance to shine. How happy will he be taking a backseat to the star Freshmen?
Duval, Allen, Trent, Bagley, and Carter are use to being the first option on their teams. Can they all co-exist? Can these guys work together as a team? Sometimes the pieces are greater than the sum of their parts.
K is a great coach. Will be interesting to see how he manages this team and their individual egos if Bagley joins them. He has his work cut out for him.
Bol isnt leaving southern cali. Based on how he speaks of that area, looks like you can almost take to the bank imo

Man, I sure hope Cal Coaching the Under-19 team doesn't end up costing us recruits of all things. Was a committee that cut Bol, not just Cal, but who knows how the kid's ego really took it, and how the people around him are presenting it.

Allen is the only proven scorer on the roster so he"ll be thrilled to be able to go back to being a spot up shooter with an elite PG distributing the ball. He should get as many shots as he wants as Duke's only proven 3 point shooting option.
Duval is known as a pass-first unselfish PG. Bagley and Carter are known as versatile, positionless bigs who can both protect the rim and defend out to the perimeter.
This sounds like wishful thinking from UK fans that every roster Duke has will be dysfunctional going forward. Lightning is unlikely to strike twice with injuries/Coach K's health/another Allen tripping incident.
Why wouldn't everything you say apply to UK as well? You mention Bolden being unhappy but UK has Vanderbilt, Richards, SKJ, Gabriel and PJ Washington who all want cracks playing the 4 or 5.
Bolden will probably still get about 20 mins a game.
