Where do you guys rank this 2017 class "coming in" to other U.K./Coach Cal classes?

I think it's an excellent class. Idk if I'd say it's cals best ever but it's up there . No like "transcendent superstar " but it's a very very well rounded class - along with having some true players to legit fill the SF spot we've somewhat lacked in years past.

Also; Have you're feelings towards cal and the cats changed since your vocal opinions following the EE loss ?

Gonna be awesome to finally have some true 3s that are very skilled. Several options to work with. Best collection of forwards in the country, IMO. Got a good leader in Green that will distribute the ball well. Got a backup PG that is 6-6 and can shoot. I think we'll be fine in the shooting department. Green, Baker, SGA and Knox can shoot. Hell, Gabriel can shoot pretty decent. Think they're gonna be really good by March. Cal can angle it where he has mismatches all over the floor. I like my team.

Have to wait and see how good the class is overall a couple months into the season to determine where they stack up to Cal's previous classes. Has the potential to be the best. We'll see.

Nah. It's good but right now it's nowhere near his best class. Numbers-wise it's the 13 class. Had 5 top 10 players (not even counting another top 20 plus Willis & Hawkins). This class has only two guys that are only right on the border. The 09 had 2 legit superstars and 11 had the top 2 draft picks and another top 10 guy. This is a balanced class but unless a lot of guys overperform, this will be a middle of the road class for Cal.

Could be the best but we have to let it play out. If Richards, Shay and Baker are studs look out.

This is Kentucky. Cal has 1 title in 8 yrs. so did Tubby.

Next year we have no shot at one.

Fact.

If it wasn't for Hump and Hawk we lose by 20.
One and Done is getting old.

It won't be next year with that midget pg I promise you.

I'll see you guys next season.

But remember, one and done is not cutting it.

Who cares?
We won't sniff a FF next yr.

And in a thread titled "does Cal win another title?"

I just wished this years class had last years guards. It always seems like we have either a great back court and an okay front court or an excellent front court and good but not great guards.

Don't think it's tops but it's deep and maybe the best balanced. That said we need 'veteran' contributions from SKJ, Wynyard and Gabriel because we will be so green.
Agree,we just don't know what we have in Baker,Alexander and Richards.I'm not yet sold on what SKJ and Gabriel bring to the table on a regular basis Wynyard may or may not get the chance to add much simply because his skills(and he has some)don't fit with what Cal wants to do

Cal has his work cut out to fit the many pieces he has into the best version of what this team can be.I think Knox ,Vanderbilt and Washington will give SKJ and Gabriel all they can handle in the fight for playing time on this team.

Green,Diallo,Alexander and Baker will push each other for minutes because each brings different skills to the table.Cal will earn his money sorting this all out by the start of the SEC.

If we're just talking about the hype coming in, it's probably 4th behind 2009, 2014, 2012

Oh and nobody wants you here Kwilt

Good class in a down year. Next year is a strong year and I hope Cal signs kids ranked as highly in that class as he has this year. WOW!!!

It is going to be another fun year to watch, I think a lot depends on how Green can run this team. We have more depth this year at every position. We may be better at start of season than some fans think. Play in the SEC is going to be better as SEC schools have more talent this year.

Agreed. I think our shooting will be just fine. I don't think we're gonna necessarily lead the country in 3pt and FG % but I think our shooting will be well above adequate . Imo at least

If you go by number of quality players, maybe this is tops.

Seven top 30 players plus a top 60 is pretty impressive. Six 5-stars and two 4-stars.

But it's missing an elite top 5 player.

Also, this is from a class that is considered weak overall. The '17 class is considered weak compared to most other classes.

I think this class saving grace could be that several players could contribute for multiple years.

I figure it has three, maybe four OAD guys at the most.

So we should see four to five of these guys play at least two years.
