Where do the wins come from in 2015?

Just a foolish prediction to think we are gonna go from 2 wins to 5, and then back down to 3. certainly not the prediction from a UK football fan, or one who has been awake the last 2 years and has half knowledge of what has been going on with our rebuilding and improvement. Uneducated fan, or poser troll, one of the 2.

You are correct, it was a 7 point loss. When was the last time UK beat USCjr in Columbia?
Your pessimism is disgusting, and the touch of hyperbole that you threw in there doesn't make it any better.
Look, we get it, but last year (which is the most recent game, just informing you because you don't seem all that bright) we won.
Since the off-season, we added another very good class, 10 USCjr. players are transferring, they lost their QB who played for them all season, their defense is still abysmal, players from our best recruiting class in school history is coming off the redshirt, and USCjr has been on a downward spiral.
You're basing every and all of your predictions on "used to be" and not what the program is becoming going forward, which is what counts when predicting anything.
Yet you said "don't call me a debbie downer", while predicting losses to teams we beat, and especially Vanderbilt.
You are the very definition of a debbie downer.
LOL. when i make a prediction, it is similar to how i would bet on something. If i was to bet on a WINS/LOSSES this is what I would bet on. I am optimistic, and hopeful, that they will win 6/7 games. But i won't bet on it, nor predict it. It really doesn't matter, this is just a message board, everyone here is entitled to their prediction/opinion. GO CATS!
LOL try again.

February predictions for the season are always fun...but usually foolish.

I think everyone will agree the 2015 schedule holds 4 as-sure-as-they-can-be wins (3 OOC plus Vandy). So the success of the season depends on the remaining 8 games. That's as far as I'll go until I hopefully get to see a spring scrimmage and get my Phil Steele yearbook in June!

At the risk of being labelled Capt. Obvious I will say that season success (i.e., W/L record) is based on 2 things: (1) How good you are and (2) how good are your opponents. There are lots of thoughts and comments about "how good" the Cats will be in this and other threads.

With that in mind, I thought it might be fun to look at how good some of UK's opponents are going to be based on some published Way Too Early 2015 Top 25s. I see that 7 of the "other 8" opponents are garnering some degree of very early Top 25-ish attention. I'm not going to say UK can't/won't beat a Top 25-ish team but I will say that, right now, such a win would be an upset.

So what does some of the national media think? Here are UK's opponents that are getting some Top 25 attention...

Media Top 25 Teams Fringe Top 25

SI AU, GA, MO MSU, TN
NatlChamp.com MSU, GA, MO, AU, FL, TN UofL
ESPN GA, AU, TN n/a
Athlon AU, GA, MSU, MO, FL TN, UofL
SatDownSouth GA, MO, AU, MSU, TN, UofL n/a
FoxSports AU, GA, MO, TN MSU
USAToday AU, GA, MO n/a

Addin' them up...

GA, AU In 7 of 7 Early Top 25s
MO In 6 of 7 Early Top 25s
TN In 4 of 7 Early Top 25s (plus 2 fringe mentions)
MSU In 3 of 7 Early Top 25s (plus 2 fringe mentions)
FL In 2 of 7 Early Top 25s
UofL In 1 of 7 Early Top 25s (plus 2 fringe mentions)

Last year the Cats' schedule included 5 AP pre-season Top 25 opponents (AL, GA, SC, LSU and MO) and 2 fringe opponents (UofL and MSU). As it turned out the Cats were 1-6 against those 7 teams and 5 of them finished in the Top 25 (all but SC and LSU). This year's schedule looks similar with 5 likely pre-season Top 25 teams (GA, AU, MO, TN and MSU) and 2 fringe teams (FL and UofL).

So based on this crazy
confused0018.r191677.gif
way too early look at the 2015 opponents the Cats' "best chance" for additional wins would be against UF and UofL (home) plus SC.

Peace

As far as betting goes I think you shouldn't worry about any of the games past about the 2nd or 3rd game, based on your predictions I don't think you will have any money left to bet with by then.

UK beat USC last year with a huge inbalance in raw talent, we beat them in 10 with TWO four stars playing while they had THIRTY EIGHT commit in the previous four classes plus a five star. And before you mention they lost their five star for the second half we lost one of our best players for the whole game, also a running back, but obviously our best running back-----even though he was only a 5.2 two star. That kind of sums up the talent on the two teams then. our star RB was a 5.2 RB and theirs was a 6.1 five star.

USC will be favored this year on the road, but a HUGE shift in the talent we have available now, a lot depends on how well USC rebounds from their erratic play, they still had some good wins last year.
