Where did Johnson end up???

He actually waited too long. The 2 best options for his potential pro aspirations (UK and Arizona), he had spots for a month and never committed. Watch him either end up at UNC because of public pressure or at a school no better (or even worse) than Pittsburgh.

He might end up going to Oregon, where they lost their whole roster. He might be one of the best players there but it will be a Pac 12 team that likely isn't in the NCAA's.

As far as we know, he's still got a UK offer, but he was clearly looking for more than just a great team and exposure. Kentucky and Arizona are likely the 2 favorites to win it all next year and he has a spot on both if he wants it. His decision will speak a lot to what this kid is all about.

The ACC blocked a transfer to an in conference school, thus no uncheat.
Sorry, that's what the link was about. I guess he could go and sit a year.

Well if he was waiting to see what Diallo and Alkins was going to do I don't think he waited too long . Those guys were not going to stay in the draft because Johnson committed to either school

Oh, I understand that. My point was, Johnson likely would've been the main man at Pitt. He opted to transfer for a higher profile and had 2 great suitors for that, Kentucky and Arizona.

He waited too long because now he likely ends up at another average power 5 school who won't be any better than Pitt. What was the point?

Yes, he was trying to out-think the obvious. He had what very few do; He could have played for Cal and UK...Can ANYONE remember how FAST Tyler Ulis accepted the offer from Cal and UK after not being on the radar previously? What did it get him? I state he'd have not had that opportunity anywhere else. He was in the perfect storm and I again state Cal brought out of Tyler what great could be. Tyler Ulis is and will be great. Ole Cam may have missed out...

To be great you have to prepare to be great and you also have to accept the opportunity. It may never be opportunit(ies)...

Not too many options for championship aspirations combined with PT outside the ACC.

Everyone had said Florida wanted him early on..could that still be an option?

A well made point, the light could still go on for him.It wouldn't be the first time Cal pulled a rabbit out of a hat

I agree well he still could come here if he wants . Will be interesting to see what he does . The block to UNC definitely screwed his plans up I guess

Yeah, if he is wanting to attend unc I won't hurt at all if he signs somewhere else. Cal has a real good record of smart players on his team. His wanting to attend unc (If true) is not smart. I don't care what unc just did.

No.
Florida pulled its name from the hat after signing koulechov.
That and egbunu returning has Florida out of room.

I think our fans should just come to grips with the near certainty that our roster for next season is set now, and it's going to be a very good team.

If it is...fine. But, do you think for a second Cal is finished looking or content? He is ALWAYS watching....I sleep well at night knowing Cal's at the helm at UK.

Going to be a very good team? Absolutely. The roster is set? With coach cal it could and probably will change. I, for one, am pretty sure there will be one more player added.

Is call allowed to say if he's NOT recruiting him any longer? As this much time goes by and UNC and AZ seem to be eliminated, he might as well choose UK if Cal will have him.

I fully expect for Cal to add one more player's. Slowly and surely, UK is looking like one of Johnson's best options for his stated goals of improving his game enough to be NBA ready and win a college championship.

Even though Cal can't offer him too much, Cam could easily get 20 mpg, score 8ppg, and help the team out with his 3 years of experience. Plus, the type of players Cam was told he needed to learn how to defend to become a NBA player are in the same exact mold as Diallo, Knox, and Vanderbilt.

After a year with Cal and Kentucky, he will surely flourish as a SR. Wouldn't be surprised to see him start at the 3 while averaging 15+ppg.

Guarding a 6'10" 3 that shoots 43% from 3 is damn near impossible. After a year of working on his current weakness (lateral quickness) under Calipari, he could be a BEAST of a player.

I think the roster is set. There is just no room. Cal is going to have a tough enough time finding minutes for our eight 5-star and three 4-star guys.

Arizona no longer has any open Scholarships.

When did he become 6 '10'?

Cuonzo in line 1.

You know, that's not so far out of the reach to believe Cuonzo will be calling on him. If they got him to add to what they already have they could become pretty decent this year and a team to watch out for. Just saying.

Cam could easily go TCU with them being the NIT champs and the guy who recruited him to Pitt.

He probably can go anywhere he wants provided a scholly is available. Even to ACC teams while sitting. Nobody that has a free open spot would deny him.

All He has to do at this point is call ANY school of choice and say"Recruit Me."

JwUKFan11,

I apologize. His height remains a mystery, but nobody is claiming 6'10". Depending on the site he is listed between 6'7" and 6'9" and weighs somewhere between 185 and 210.

On Pitt's official site, they have him at 6'8" and 210 lbs. I guess that would be the more accurate of the bunch?

Quite the range in height and weight being listed online, though!

If Cam were 6'10, dude would already be a lottery pick with the type of season he just had. With him being 6'8, he is just another really talented win prospect that can shoot the basketball really well. If the kid were really wanting his best shot at playing in the NBA, he would come to Kentucky and not worry about starting his first year. The type of talent Cam would have to guard at practice at Kentucky is the type he will have to show he can guard to get drafted in the NBA. If he comes to Kentucky, good chance most of the guys in front of him talent wise would already be declaring for the NBA draft after their freshman season and would mean Cam starts his second year at Kentucky and is the focus and team leader his second year at Kentucky. I don't know what our odds are of landing Cam, but since the kid can shoot the ball from deep, if the kid called Cal and wanted to play at Kentucky, i can't see Cal saying no thanks, go elsewhere. He would be adding shooting to our team. I do think we have a few guys more talented than him at his size, but when you can shoot the ball, you can always find a spot in the rotation when shots don't seem to be falling for anyone else.

If coach Cal gets him to commit, I'm fine with that, can always use a shooter, I wish it was November already, gonna enjoy the summer knowing who we have playing for us next year, GBB[thumb2][thumb2]

At this point anything other than getting back together with Jamie Dixon would be a little surprising to me...
