I predict the Cats will be 12-1 and ranked #1 or #2 and Florida will still be unbeaten and ranked in the top five. Rupp should be rocking for that one.
I'm hoping with the new excitement with Pope's style of play and the fact that Kentucky fans are so in love with this team that we get back to whether
it's only a question of whether we lose one game in a year at Rupp or zero. I know that's going to be difficult this year with the league not only being the strongest ever in relation to other conferences but maybe the strongest league ever in relation to other conferences. I could see us maybe winning the regular season with 2 home losses if we went 5-4 on the road but, even as tough as the league is this year it might take 13-5 to win it so we really need to hold court at home.

Not sure I agree on the Cats being ranked in the top 2 on January 4th. Both Iowa State and Auburn would have to lose @ Colorado and vs Purdue (Neutral- Birmingham) respectively. And we have to take care of an OSU team that is the 8th best 3pt shooting team in the country. But I agree we need to hold court at home. We need to sweep our home games at Rupp this year. This Florida game to open is CRUCIAL to set the tone and get us prepared for the two-game roadstand that follows. Every game in the SEC is losable most years, but especially so this year. We cannot afford to take a night off.

Florida is good. Golden is legit.
Agree Golden is a very good coach. They have not really played anyone yet. Will be fun to see if they are as good as advertised. UofL was is not great but played as good as they could against us. Florida came into Rupp and pulled the upset not that long ago. We need to be hitting on all cylinders for sure.

Auburn beat osu by almost 40.

UK better not lose to them.

Wait........why is the game at 11:00am?
Honestly kinda baffling. Currently top 10 matchup and ESPN wanted it on the main channel. I assumed all of ESPN's other time slots were allocated to "better" games (air quotes because it's already a top 10 matchup), but the only other bball game I see on ESPN is Ark@Tenn in the 1pm slot. Even #13 Oklahoma @ #7 Bama is at 6pm but it's on SECN, not even ESPN. I don't believe there are college bowl games that day. So it all around doesn't make sense

It would be embarrassing but we are only favored by like 6 so we could very well lose this game if we don’t come prepared. OSU has played some decent teams close so it’s not like they are getting blasted by everyone.

I have never in my 28 plus years of watching Kentucky basketball seen a game start at 10am cst. Maybe some game that was in a different country or something but definetly not a game at rupp or even a game in the U.S. its weird

I’m in MT time and had to do a double take when I saw a 9 AM tip off listed.

My question is how is Golden still coaching? Did all of the allegations go away? Are they still investigating? Thought he would be put on leave of absence during an investigation like that. Is Florida wanting to win this year that bad that they’re acting like this doesent exist?
I think i read where that had been settled . $$$$$$$$$

So you are going out on a limb and predicting we beat Brown and OSU ? Big if true !!!! J/K op, just picking at ya . But it not that far of a reach, we will be heavy favorites in both.

Most people in his position would have been BBQ’d by the media and the court of public opinion. How did Golden seemingly get away with this?

Florida has played no one. We will be the 1st ranked team they play all season and the game is in Rupp.
We will “expose” the Gators.
We will blitz them back to the swamp where they belong.
Cats by 20 bigguns.

I don’t remember a game starting at 11 am est., either. I remember several noon games, but not 11 am.

Wild that is still an active investigation and he's not suspended. I mean if he's found to have violated Title IX and or have committed some crimes, that's gonna look really bad for UF.
They're waiting to see how legit the team is. They don't want to mess up a good thing if it appears the team could make a serious run.

Until more evidence comes out, it's starting to look like there's another side to the Golden story. It's possible, I guess, that Florida gives no fks and is willing to gamble but it seems weird as hell that he wasn't at least suspended with pay until an investigation was complete. The story that came out in the student paper, the only source was the alleged victims' attorney (at least that's my understanding) and it sounded really bad. The whole thing is really odd.

Auburn ran them off the 3pt line which is OSU's bread and butter and also what Auburn excels in regarding perimeter defense. They still shot an ok % for the game overall but weren't able to get long range shots up in any quantity. Once the 3 ball was removed from the equation OSU frontcourt had no chance vs Auburn bigs to offset the lack of 3pt production. Auburn is really really good, but it was also a bad matchup for OSU in a number of ways.

Also Meechie Johnson is 0-3 vs Auburn the past 2 years and has lost by a combined 100+ points so it was just never in the cards for a team with him on the roster lol.

UKFan 1622, how are we going to be 1 o2 rnked when there are 3 teams ahead of us and they most likely will not lose before we play Florida?

This is why I'll be surprised if UK wins more than 11 SEC games.

All 16 SEC teams are in Kenpom's top 68 teams right now. Each game is essentially against a tournament-level team.

I don't think some of our fans realize how difficult it will be to get to the 12 win mark. It means UK won 3 road games, and also held swept opponents at home. I don't think that's happening in this year's SEC.

It is pretty odd how this wasn't run mainstream for a couple weeks. Every other similar story gets that treatment. Facts be damned, they still run the story non stop. TBH, I had completely forgotten about it until this thread.
