The irony of all this is truly remarkable. When we went on probation in the late 80s, we basically didn't try to appeal or fight the sanctions, despite the fact that the NCAA really didn't have much hard evidence to support the claims. The penalties we received were worse than what UofL is getting, other than that we didn't have a national title to be taken away. Hell, they essentially took all of the players we had, we couldn't even be on TV for a year, and we were banned from post-season for two years. But, we took the penalties without a lot of whining and crying. Then we hired Pitino, and he quickly rebuilt the program far faster than anyone thought possible. What a difference 30 years makes.
