What's your all time UK offensive team

I think people forget we've had GREAT QB's before Couch, etc and they are:

George Blanda, Rick Norton, and Babe Parilli

Didn't one of the Michaels boys (Lou or Walt) play on the off. line? I think Walt played both ways maybe. That was a long time ago, Lol

I don't think Walt played for UK, he was a LB for the Browns at the time Lou played at UK. Lot of players played both ways back in the day but I don't remember Lou much except at DT, one of the great games against Thug U when he was a senior.

Rumor was that Lou was a pretty tough nut, that he ran off several of the freshmen from Corbin that won the state championship in 1955, and that they would call up Walt to come down and straighten him out at times. Fortunately Calvin Bird enrolled after Lou graduated.

Couch
Higgs/Pinner
Cobb/Yeast
Tamme (is there even another TE to mention besides him?)
Dermonti Dawson/Sam Ball/Larry Warford/Antonio Hall/Jon Toth

UK has been miserably bad at offensive linemen in our history.
Bob Gain won Outland Trophy think he must be mentioned

Seems weird but I remember listening to the games and it seemed like Ray Correll made half the tackles in punt coverage from his OG position, hot sure what formation they ran that allowed that, but I think that was responsible for a lot of his honors.

Ray was a little taller and quicker off the ball than most other guards. Coach Buckshot Underwood said Ray was country strong and hardly ever lined up the same way on punt coverage. You are right, he led team in down field tackles!
Attended my first game when I was a 8th grade Jr. High o. guard and senior Gene Donaldson became my idol! Remember Shorty Jamerson and Bill Leskovar saying any time we needed yardage we just dived behind Gene.

Some names from the past for sure, haven't heard those names for a while.

In grade school we usually played tackle football (without pads, my poor mom had lots of repair work) at noon and recess and in our games a "touchback" scored two points. Some time around 1950 I listened to us play Tennessee and they got a touchback toward the end of the game and I was depressed until I saw the Sunday paper the next day and found out that we didn't lose the game after all, it was a 0-0 tie..

We are sort of saying the same thing here. The expansion Browns made a terrible mistake by drafting a "franchise QB" with the #1 pick. There are so many other things an expansion team needs and QB drafts are historically crap shoots. Trade that pick and get some journeyman NFL players. Look for your franchise guy a few years later. Who knows what might have happened had Couch been given the opportunity to develop and learn an NFL passing game as a back up on another team rather than thrown to the wolves as a rookie on an expansion team.

Peace
Couch reminds me of David Carr....Both of them never got a chance, to prove themselves

I was a farm boy and looked forward to Saturdays afternoons listening with Dad broadcasts of WILDCATS games. Vivid memories of these players names called: Dopey Phelps, George Blanda, Wah Wah Jones, Harry Ulinski, Wash Serini, Dom Fucci, and Walt Yourarsky.
For me the Bryant coached teams were the Golden age of UK football.

Dopey, Wah Wah, great names and I remember all of them except Wash?

George had a long and fabulous career in his forties.
