As a disclaimer I am not stating that I am a basketball coach or suggesting anyone gets fired or moves on but what do you think about this team? I get it that we are 9-2 but we clearly have problems. What would you do if you wanted to focus on winning games with what Cal has to work with in this group?
Frankly, I don't see how I could give Skal minutes at the post. He simply cannot play there. I would consider putting Humphries in there with the instructions that he block out, screen and rebound. He could pop out for a short jumper on occasion but we need a physical presence. I would run sets and screens to free up Murray for jump shots all night long. I would play Willis at the 3 and balance him on the opposite side from Murray. Lee would be my 4 and I would have Skal back him up. I would back up Humphries with Alex. I have no idea where Alex plays best. Let Briscoe and Ulis run the show up front. I think with Willis and Murray on the wings as the best 3 point shooters on the team opponents would have to guard them and open up the middle for the guards to drive to the hoop or dish to the wings. Matthews isn't really an offensive threat but he hustles and I would play him behind Willis.
