What Players have Committed for UK on or right after Midnight Madness while Cal has been here?

I can think of few. Do you think it has anything to do with less individual one on one time with Coach while on this visit? Marcus Lee was one I believe.

Willie Cauley-Stein committed 2 weeks after.

James Young committed the week of, and Marcus Lee the week after.

Devin Booker committed 2 weeks after.

Honestly, I think it has to do with prospects wanting to visit as many schools as possible. Official visits sound like fun. So they go to as many as they can early in Oct/Nov while practice is going on... and then they sit down and make a decision for the November signing period.

Daniel Orton held a friggin press conference in the lobby of the Hyatt Sunday after Madness before he went home from his official visit.
True, but that was while "you know who" was still the coach.

A bit long I suppose. Been thinking about all the hoopla with Madness, and how this translates to players committing after the fact.

I think most kids know where they want to go before they ever visit the school. I don't know how much the visits sway them one way or the other. Regardless, I'm sure it's still fun to go visit other campus, get treated like a rock star for the weekend, meet the celebrity coaches, and generally listen to everyone tell you how awesome you are.

So when you see a kid is coming for a visit, they are probably just coming for the experience. A kid considering UK most likely knows what to expect before they ever set foot on campus.

ya know... the thread title was so long I stopped reading after "Madness". Didn't even see the part about Cal being here.
You made a mistake, so you blame the OP for you being too lazy to read one sentence?

Do I have that about right?

I'll say this - if Drake shows up at Madness this year, I hope he just performs and then moves to the stands as a spectator - that's his thing and what makes him special. I thought the whole shooting around with the team last year was awkward to say the least.

You get used to that behavior around here. I imagine the upgrade to The House of Blue forum would have less of that way of thinking. What it comes down to is if you want to talk about Kentucky Basketball, brotha your in the right place!

I bet that's why we lost to Wisconsin.

One thing that still baffles me is how when UK is looking to get a commitment, there is always some "last minute push" that reporters put out there that gets BBN in angst. I can't for the life me remember the last time this happened to Duke, UNC, or even Kansas. Maybe its just the power of BBN to increase site hits.

Everyone knew UK for Mulder, Lee, James Young, MKG, Ulis and maybe a few select others but besides that it seems everyone else has had drama surrounding it.

I bet that's why we lost to Wisconsin.

Lol - No, but I was disappointed that he didn't perform. You've got one of the most popular recording artists in the world at your Madness event and he doesn't sing a song or two?

I want to see him airball a three again.

Drake is the hottest name in hip hop and the kids love him. The more face time the better from a recruiting standpoint.

For the most part we don't get many commitments around Big Blue Madness. The players like to wait and see who goes pro first before committing. That is how Coach Cal can turn a somewhat disappointing class (when compared to his previous classes here) into the top class within a few weeks.

We've also had a lot of BBM visits that didn't commit. Such as Kyrie Irving, CJ Leslie, Shabazz Muhammed, Stanley Johnson, Kelly Oubre, James Blackmon Jr., Carlton Bragg, Jaylen Brown, Brandon Ingram, Malik Newman, Stephen Zimmerman, Cliff Alexander, Jayson Tatum, Harry Giles

Did the op ask that? Get a tutor for reading comprehension.
