What other (if any?) college bball/football teams do you "root for?"

The only other college basketball team that I root for is EKU (my alum). I don't follow any college sports besides men's basketball, but I still cheer for EKU and UK to win.

Both Vandy and Miss St. My B-I-L is a booster for Vandy and he gets me courtside seats for bball and field passes for fball. I pretend to cheer for them, unless UK is the opponent of course. I married a MSU grad whos father was in the ROTC dept for 40+ years. Unfortunately, my wife has one of those annoying ass cow bells.

The U for football. Pure bandwagon reasons that started in junior high.

Everyone is the enemy in basketball. No exceptions. I have a rooting interest in every game, but only because there is some reason I would want one to defeat the other. Either for sadistic reasons or those that would benefit UK. Example: UNC playing Duke in Cameron. Pull for UNC to see the sad faces of Duke fans and players. Louisville is the only tough one. It's hard to root for them in any way.

I'm a cane "fan" myself. Above all- way above ; my father (and me ) are Cat fans but My dad loved the canes when I was growing up (primarily bc he loved jimmy Johnson ) I still "root" for them though. The 30 for 30 on 'The U" was awesome. Jimmy Johnson was amazing . He gave all the "undesirables " a place on the team and became very formidable

I'm a Duke Fan, and Duke fan only in Basketball and Football.

I am a huge College Basketball fan and watch tons of games and root (temporarily) tams for different reasons. But, there is no other team for which I root regularly.

I loved Davidson when they made their run with Seth Curry, I enjoy watching UK and other top teams. The only team I pull against (unless someone else's loss will help Duke) is UNC.

You seem pretty cool for a dukie. You can stay and play here on RR for now lol jk... (sorta ) ;)

Gotta make fun of @Steelers2012 tho (he's an ignorant slut) - it's a right of passage for uk fans/ rafters

I went to WKU so I'll cheer for the Tops, just nowhere remotely close to the level in which I cheer for UK. Even when Western and UK have played in basketball or football I still cheer for Kentucky. There's just more at stake for the Cats. I follow Morehead State too because my parents and my brother all went to school there. That's pretty much it.

Awesome . Also, dry coool sig. How do you make a sig similar to yours ?

I like pulling for NC State because they seem to be good for an upset of Duke/UNC/UL every year.

Haha I'm the same way- especially with their loathing of UNC. Also I wouldn't ever piss off a state fan- lol the posters on their boards are ruthless and will dig up alllll kindssssss of dirt lol

The only other team I cheer for on a weekly basis is Michigan St. football, but that's only for 2 more years. My younger brother's best friend currently plays for them.

First and foremost
UK basketball >>>>>>> everything else by a large margin .
UK football >> other football programs (fandom )
I guess I sometimes pull for Bama in football , Clemson is ok , the Kentucky schools , Texas AM, TCU
(Meaning if I'm watching football on Saturday and cats aren't playing or game is over - I'll watch / try to watch and pull for these teams )

Basketball - ehhh... other Kentucky teams (sans UL) some sec teams ... that's about it.

DETEST Ohio state football and urban "I'm afraid of Saban " Meyer .

Also, detest UL football (goes without saying )
Now I may be confused.:are you talking bball and fball programs SECONDARY to UK BB and FB? For the Big 10, I'll go Michigan State in FB and UCLA in FB for the PAC 27

1. UK first and foremost in football and basketball.

2. WKU - It's where I earned my degree, so I hope the Tops do well. I am not really emotionally invested in the program like I am with UK though. (Full disclosure: I was a student in 2001 when WKU beat UK at Rupp. I was there with my friends from school. Very drunk. Somewhat stoned. Tried to stay neutral. Ended up leaving Rupp confused - I thought it was cool my little school got such a big win but was REALLY pissed Tubby lost at home to a mid major with all that talent.)

3. All other Kentucky schools not named UL.

4. Whoever plays UL, UNC, Duke, KU, IU, UCLA, UT*, UF* and Arkansas* in basketball

5. I greatly respect Alabama and LSU football, but I wouldn't say I root for them. I pull for the SEC in bowl season with the exception of UT or UF - UNLESS - they're playing UL.

* = years in which those teams happen to not suck

I graduated from UK and grad school at Ole Miss. I will always bleed blue---but will scream Hotty Toddy gosh almighty, who the hell are we? Flim flam bim bam, Ole Miss by damn! (especially when they are playing State and any other team except UK). Was excited about the football game in Lexington, since the last time I got to go see us play was a clunker with Joker at the Grove---then Freeze had to go pull a Pitino.

Also, all the UK basketball and Bama Football people are the worst.

When were you on the Hill? I was there from 2002-07.

LONG before then. I was an undergrad from 1980 to 1984. Grad school 1985-1986. I moved back to Bowling Green in 1994 and have been here since.

basketball...if its not UK i am basically rooting against other teams mostly. I do like to see the other ky teams (not little brother) win.

football...I just enjoy seeing the SEC win bowl games, but it equally as nice to see ohio state lose

Only one....Xavier.

I used to watch and semi-root for UNC but not anymore.

I really actually spend more time rooting against Louisville, UNC, Kansas, and Duke, more than rooting for anyone other than the Cat's.

Just call me a hater! Which may be the most pathetically irritating phrase of all time.

Fair enough.
I do root for Duke when they play UNC.

There is not a team I despise more than the Heels, and that includes the Cards.

If BLM's put a team together, I would root for them against UNC.

I read here regularly - along with a couple of other boards of teams that have active College Basketball discussion. I only post in threads that I can offer a relevant opinion in a manner respectful to the board.

Duke is my team and always has been and always will be. I am a Pre-K fan, and was lucky enough to see in person almost every home game from about 1977 to 1992, and lots of NC State and UNC Home games. (Father was a sports editor in Durham at the time). Not to mention, I worked for the University and took some post grad coursework there.

Moved to Austin in the winter of '78, became a Horns fan not too long after that, really enjoyed watching them under Abe Lemons. They'll never replace UK but I do follow them and hope they do well. Jr. is a Michigan fan, so I root for them to do well also, felt bad for him during 2014 EE game but he was happy for UK too.

SEC: Always had a soft spot for Vandy but I really like to see them all do well, makes for a more entertaining conference, especially for basketball.

I was in Jamaica for Spring Break as a freshman at UK in 2005. This crazy group from Vermont got down there the last night of our trip. It was the night that Vermont upset Syracuse and for that night, our group lent our fandom services to the Vermont Catamounts. Even to this day whenever I see them playing in their conference tournament, NIT or even NCAAT I find myself rooting for them.

I was there about 2 lifetimes ago and enjoyed every minute of it.It was very different in 70 thru 74(sorry to horn in on your reply and question to another poster but us Toppers don't get the chance to represent too often.)

Kentucky Football, Reds primarily.

Love college Football and can watch any game, anytime. In fact, the last few weeks, I've been watching replays of previous years' games. Generally will pull for SEC teams.
Detest ohiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiio state and noter damn. I'd wish nothing less than closure of their institutions.

Listen to or watch most Reds games even when they are terrible, as is usually the case.

Enjoy watching Ky bball once the ncaa tournament starts as long as they have a decent shot of winning the nc.

1) Belmont, my son graduated from there in 2015.

2) Temple, my daughter is a junior there now. Have been to a few football and basketball games there, lots of fun.

3) Villanova, because I like Jay Wright and they are the best local team here.
Have a very good friend who is an alum and has taken me to a few games. Also a lot of fun. Watching them beat UNC last year was an alltime highlight for me, especially since I had met Daniel Ochefu when he was in 9th grade at Westtown and I also know Ryan Arcidiacono's mom.

4) Georgia, unless they are playing UK. My dad went there, was one of their oldest and more distinguished alumni before he passed in 2009.

5) Michigan - in a former job I represented a big company based in Ann Arbor and all their execs were huge Michigan fans. Got to go to a Michigan-Ohio State football game in 2003 and was hooked! Go Blue!

I also like Penn State in football, I know many many alumni and several students there. Can't get away from PSU if you live here in PA. I was really glad they won the Big 10 last year, since I haaaaaaaate Ohio State. They are gonna be good this year too.

I don't understand how ANYONE can be a "fan" of that decrepid program. Any momentum that school has built was courtesy of a pedophile enabler.
I understand if someone got a degree from there--but claiming any fan hood of them is sick. The way their fans held vigil and jumped to the defense of Joe PA was disgraceful, and although it wasn't technically a violation of CURRENT NCAA rules, all that garbage ENABLED the continuity of that program. This was the opportunity for Emmert and the NCAA to establish a new precedent in loss of institutional control.

It's a shame they were in the Big10 C picture--as they should have been back in Pediphile Valley reeling from the death penalty.

Eff that program and to hell with their scumbag fans.
