I’m 53 and to start the season was just wanting to make the tourney maybe win a game. Beating Duke got me excited thinking maybe we have the magic to make a deep run. Injuries and lack of SEC level talent has caught up to us. It’s frustrating in SEC play but if you look at the season as a whole it’s been a success and looking forward to the madness this season and Popes 2nd season next. GO CATS!!!

44.

Don’t get nearly as worked up as I used to and have seen a lot.

I was a kid for probation and early Pitino. I was a teenager for late Pitino and early Tubby. My 20s were the decline of Tubby, drunk Billy and the first year of Cal. 30s and early 40s were all Cal. Now, it’s Pope.

I have been alive to witness 3 national titles, 9 Final Fours, countless SEC and SECT championships, and even more disappointments and heartbreaks along the way. Historically since the 1950s, we struggle in even decades (60s, 80s, 00s, 20s??) and shine in odd decades (50s, 70s, 90s, 10s) and that pattern is holding steady. Hopefully Pope can change that quickly.

67 and finding myself this year getting more upset with the fan base than the team. But such is the nature of discussion boards.

I'm not too upset with Pope or the team (minus those STUPID TOs and the lapses of effort); more pissed at the bad situation we're in yet again due to injuries. It's just like we've been in Groundhog Day the last 5 seasons or so. Get some decent wins, somebody gets hurt, and then bam! Crappy post season. It's just getting old and frustrating.

54. We have had some HUGE wins this year. If not for the Big wins, this year would have been a bummer. Injuries probably cost us a couple more wins. This team is gritty. I give Pope B+ in his first year. If Pope can get the talent that the last guy squandered, he will have more than 1 championship in 14 years.

48 and the days of getting upset over how 18-22 year olds perform in a sport are long gone. I want the Cats to win, root them on, but pretty much go about my day if they lose.
I didn't get there until about four years ago......thanks in part to CCC.

71, almost 72, and been following since 1959. My dad used to let me listen on his transistor radio when I went to bed at night. Would fall asleep listening to Cawood and Claude Sullivan.
70. Same story with the metal transistor. A GE with a leather case. Black. I can hardly remember what day of the week it is now. But, I remember listening to Cawood; going to Memorial with standing room only admission for $2. Standing in the snow or rain just to see the Cats live (thanks Dad). Cotton Nash, Conley, Dampier, Pratt, Riley, Casey, Issel, and it is still going on. People that were not raised listening to Cawood have no idea what it was like. Today's announcers, especially on TV, have no idea how clueless they are, compared to Cawood; the GOAT.

54 Tuesday. Earliest team I can vaguely remember was the '78 team. Seen more good basketball here than bad. I don't get angry after losses anymore. Haven't been that way since at least the early 2000's.

44. Looking to move to the Green Bay Area in May. If that works out I’ll get to bring the family down to see a game at Rupp and Commonwealth. Very excited for that.

I kinda think this is the Cal effect. We got so frustrated that eventually we just didn't care as much. I'm just like you - still does impact me at first, but not as much as it did say 10 years ago.
