Today Doug Sirmons called 4 techs during our win over USC. It seems like that this year more t's have been called against us then any other season that I can remember. I don't know what the stats are, maybe you guys can help me.

What's the record for most techs in a season given to one single team?

What's the record for total techs given to all teams combined? Seems like this season has been the year of the tech fouls.

What is the UK record for most techs in a season.

What's the record for most techs given to a team in one game? Also has any ref given more then 4 on his own, like Sirmons did today?

Finally, what's the most techs that UK has had called against them in one game.

I'm not complaining about the refs, nothing like that, just had a discussion with a few fellow uk fans and we couldn't find the answer to these questions, and all of us agreed that this season tech fouls are coming fast and furious, lol. So I came here to the rafters to ask my brotheren these questions because I know someone here knows the answers.

Btw, I did Google this, just couldn't find what I was looking for.

Some dude on Facebook just said that today was the most Ts given by one ref in a single game. However, Facebook has also stated that Tommy Chong has died twice in the last 2 months, he is still alive.

I'm not sure but one ref calling four is very unusual. I'm still not sure what the f happened with Cal. The other two seemed really ticky tacky unless they're automatic - The SC kid (barely) swiping at a dead ball and Briscoe slamming the ball down.

Referee Admits His Mistake in Calling 15 Technical Fouls
December 22, 1989|CHRIS FOSTER | TIMES STAFF WRITER
    • Referee Al Hackney admitted Thursday night that he misinterpreted NCAA rules when he called 15 technical fouls during Wednesday night's basketball game between Chapman College and Mansfield College of Pennsylvania.

The technicals were called on 15 players who left the Chapman and Mansfield benches when a scuffle broke out with 44 seconds left in regulation play. Chapman won in overtime, 101-93.

Hackney said that the 15 players should have been disqualified from the game, but no free throws should have been awarded.

"I didn't think properly and the rule was misinterpreted," Hackney said. "There should not have been any technicals. The players should have been disqualified and sent to the locker room. I blew it."

Yea, I never saw why Cal received the first t, I knew he was mad about what Carrera had just gotten away with, then Briscoe was slammed to the floor and I guess he said something that got him a T, everyone saw the rest, make your own conclusions, lol. Seemed to light a fire under the teams ass, we did come out fighting and held a big lead for the entire game.

This current 3 game streak is starting to remind me of the 2003 and 2014 runs, much more like 03 then 14. In '03 the Vandy game was the turnaround, a lot like the Florida game this year, '14 the run didn't start until the NCAAT, but is similar to this team because we all knew they could be that good, they just didn't show it until late. We all knew that this team had the talent, but like all young players and teams, they had to learn the college game and are still learning, but I think the more that they see it working the better they will get.
