For the coaches and players it is EKU. Everyone on here is just some message board guy and can look ahead. Honestly of the games remaining, I'd go with UT. Beating them would be huge, and is somewhat realistic. It would hurt UT and Jones and propel UK and Stoops up the East ladder.

the next one, and this week as of today, that mean EKU. That is the most important game on the schedule as of today. They are all important if you want to compete for championships and go bowling, but as of today it is EKU.

So far, "IMPORTANT" seems to mean different things to different CAT FOOTBALL FANS... and that's understandable.

Additionally, there have been LOTS OF VERY GOOD ANSWERS and REASONS for making the selections each of you have made. Sure:

a) 'every game is important'...(Doh!)
b) 'the next game is the most important' (for those who like cliche's)

IMO, the FLORIDA GAME was the Most Important game... so far, because we could be / and should be 4-0 and 3-0! HOWEVER, what game in the future do you think will have a significant POSITIVE or NEGATIVE IMPACT on our UK CATS? What is that IMPORTANT GAME?

I'm seeing the game against Tennessee being the MOST IMPORTANT...based upon FOUR factors:
a) Georgia
b) Florida
c) Tennessee
d). COMPETING TO WIN THE SEC EAST! (not even thinking about a bowl game)

GO BIG BLUE!...now how about you?

For all those who vomited out "the next game is always the most important", enjoy:

A chain is only as strong as its weakest link
A fool and his money are soon parted
A good man is hard to find
A house divided against itself cannot stand
A leopard cannot change its spots
A penny saved is a penny earned
A picture paints a thousand words
A place for everything and everything in its place
A woman's place is in the home
A woman's work is never done
Actions speak louder than words
All good things come to he who waits
All things must pass
All's fair in love and war
An apple a day keeps the doctor away
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
Beggars can't be choosers
Better late than never
Better safe than sorry
Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all
Birds of a feather flock together
Blood is thicker than water
Boys will be boys
Count you blessings
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you
Don't bite the hand that feeds you
Don't count your chickens before they are hatched
Don't cross the bridge till you come to it
Don't put all your eggs in one basket
Don't try to walk before you can crawl
Easy come easy go
Every dark cloud has a silver lining
Every dog has his day
Finders keepers, losers weepers
First things first

Now, for those of you with a brain(the first group won't get this), at this point in the season, I would say Vandy. Win that game and we are in a bowl game. Going into the season, I would have said Florida since I thought they would be the 6th toughest game on the schedule and we really need to break that streak. After we lost to UofF, it became USCjr.. If we beat Auburn then I think it becomes UT as the bowl would be secure and we could be looking at a 10 win season if we beat UT.

UL because that game will be the deciding factor between what kind of bowl game are we going to?

In addition, permanent in-state dominance must be established by us starting this season. There should be no question in recruits' minds which program is the top football program in the state of Kentucky. No more ceding ground to Louisville in football. It comes to an end starting this season.

I love posts like this. Internet tough guy calling people brainless because they understand details and keys to success. So you are saying that all of these coaches that have been so successful that preach "next opponent" is brainless. And I guess that you are also saying that all of the quotes you listed were made by brainless people as well. If so, tell me why these quotes and the people who said them are worldly known and you are not? Maybe it is because they have been successful enough using those ideals for people across societies to want to listen to them. So they would definitely not be brainless.

By the way, I read the part that you said we (the people that believes in the next game) would not understand. Well, according to your own admission, you should probably use the next man up strategy. Because we played USCjr BEFORE Florida. So by your logic we wouldn't have beaten them either seeing how we would have not shown up for that game as you were looking ahead to Florida. What a mistake that would have been.

I chose UL, but in hind sight, I probably should have chosen Auburn. Ether win would accomplish a near certainty of 7 wins. Another win in the SEC, against a traditional power, is clearly more important though. So my choice is wrong.

Eku because its the next one

Before the season started I thought Mizzou was

They were a "type of team" that we hadn't beaten in a long time
UK needed the SEC Win (and SEC East win)
It was going to be close enough too be winnable even though Mizzou was likely to be a bit favored - even in Lex

They pulled it out and I couldn't be more horny about it

From this point on -- I'll say UL might be the MOST important

But here are the 'category of wins' I think we have left

Should Win:
Eastern Ky
Charlotte
Vandy

Good chance to win:
Louisville
Auburn (! Cant wait !)

"Just Need One Win Over These Guys"
Tennessee
UGA
Miss St

This would take us to an 8 or 9 win season

Oh My………….:boom:

Lol. Here is the proof that the first group I mentioned wouldn't understand.

I'm no tough guy. You have a keyboard just like the rest of us. Put on a wife beater, fire up the old desktop and take you best shot.

I sure hope Coach Stoops is focusing on the next game. I also hope he is focusing on something more productive than a UK message board. For the rest of us who were not hired by the University of Kentucky to coach these fine young men, we can go ahead discuss at length anything we want without regard to how it will effect those young men that we are not coaching.

Now about the clichés. Mercy, where to start. I will first say that I shouldn't have called you non-thinkers brainless. You have a brain, you just choose not to use it. Now those people who made up all those clichés were using their brains. The OP was asking you to USE your brain and tell us what you think as opposed to copying and pasting the work of someone who actually did use their brain.

Finally, be carefully what you are giving me credit for admitting. Sometimes the next game is the most Important. It worked that way imo for USCjr and then Florida. However, it stopped working that way this week with EKU imo. Many more games that WE FANS can look ahead to that are much more important.

I chose Auburn... Next SEC game and it would keep us on a roll in the SEC, possibly in second place after a win against Auburn.... Momentum... You can't say enough about Mo!

Perhaps most of you have noticed this already, but I wanted to mention an INTERESTING RESULT that has NOT OCCURRED in this POLL!

NOBODY picked the AUBURN GAME on October 15, 2015 AND listed "a reason that annually gets written / spoken by UK FOOTBALL FANS as a warning to the UK FOOTBALL TEAM, PROGRAM, PLAYERS."

It usually goes like this: "Well we better beat ? next week because Midnight Madness starts next week and if our FOOTBALL TEAM LOSES, the fan base will not support Football anymore because they will be wrapped up in UK Basketball".

If you read the posts and picks from every POLL PARTICIPANT so far, THIS explanation is NOT LISTED. It's not even THOUGHT ABOUT! What happened?

IMO... THIS is a huge sign of WHAT our UK FOOTBALL TEAM and PROGRAM is accomplishing, and WHERE our UK FOOTBALL TEAM is going.

Anybody else agree? What is your take on this "missing phenomenon"?

It shows me that you're the first football only poster... I like both sports.... It's really nice...

I don't follow your logic Gary4UK...

a). This is the FOOTBALL POST BOARD
b). Anyone can read the posts and see not one poster listed "Midnight Madness / UK Basketball" as a reason UK Football needs to keep winning, or win a particular "IMPORTANT" game.

That's all I'm referring to. For once, UK FANS did not use UK BASKETBALL as an excuse for losing Football fans, and IMO, it's a great sign how the UK FOOTBALL FAN BASE is focusing on FOOTBALL.

c). If your looking for UK BASKETBALL... try RUPP RAFTERS!... I post there as well!

Thanks.

I can tell you down here the UT fans are already jumping off of bridges. My physical theorist has been a UT ticket holder for 30 years and missed 4 games in that time. He told me yesterday he sent his tickets back and said "I'm done with them forever" :)

I think if CATS do beat the Vols this year it could be the final nail in Jone's coffin. Personally I think Jones is a solid coach that had a few horrendous in-game decisions which is fixable, but I think after Dooley, and then Kiffin the UT fans are worn out with excuses.
