Vandy, might well be our 6th win, and gives us another road win, another East Division win, and a game we simply cannot afford to lose.

It is imperative that we show improvement this yr. Every game that we have a decent shot at winning is very important.

Auburn because they are a big name program and its very winnable because its in Ky and they are struggling.

Would also give UK major, major confidence for Miss St on the road.

It would also propel UK into the top 25.

Gotta be AU.

Silly question, so I gave a silly answer: Charlotte.

They are all important in their own unique way. If the question was which game do I want to see us win the most, I would probably pick UofL just because of the rivalry. Although it would probably more important for us to win against Georgia (or Tennessee or MSU or take your pick for any game other than Vandy).

Auburn is our next SEC foe, it's a big Thursday night game, and yes we can win it!! This will be our last home game before hitting the road to Miss. St. Win this game and take a wave of momentum into Mississippi St and anything can happen. Bottom line, we need the Auburn game to provide the momentum for the road. Chanses are with an Auburn win we are 5 & 1 and hungry as hell to make sure we don't end things like we did last year.:boxing::football::boxing:

Normally I would say the next one, but let's face it, the Auburn game is coming up on Thursday night in two weeks and it will be huge. The team still must focus on Eastern and not let them slip up on them. Need to get a big early lead so we can rotate some of the younger guys in for experience.

Vandy. It's the only iffy win out of EKU, Charlotte and Vandy that gets us 6.

Always, always the next game.
Thinking ahead causes you to take your eye off the ball. In order to get 6-7-8 wins you have to win the next game first.

With that said, to beat UL and Petrino as a preamble to a bowl game would be freaking awesome, especially if their downward trend continues.

GO CATS

who ever we play next.....the cats are not that good to look ahead and say this or that game means more. only thinking like that leads to disappointment. at this stage of where the team is at every next game is as important as any others. :sunglasses:

THIS!! The next one is ALWAYS the most important one. Overlooking people gets you beat!!

I agree with your first statement, and voted that way. I completely disagree with the second, though, because if i overlook eku it will have zero impact on anything at all.

Selected Auburn. Gives us 5 wins with a good shot then at 7, maybe 8 (but removes all doubt about 6 and a bowl). Thursday nite audience good for recruiting.

Beating Auburn gives us a legit chance at stealing 2 games of the 4 game stretch people had marked as L's. It also more than likely gives us 5 wins before Vandy, Charlotte, UofL to end the season.

Auburn sends us well on the way to an 8-9 win season.

Everybody that said "the next game" is pretty awful and should not have responded to this post. I'm going to say Auburn. Home game, big name program, they are down this year, we have to win.

Florida win would've been it.

At this point, Auburn. For the first time in my life as a UK fan, we go into that game EXPECTING to beat them. And we need to. We can still make it to a bowl with a loss, sure - only need to beat Vandy or UofL to do that. But with a win, we could be looking at a REALLY good season.

Based on your response, you probably haven't followed Kentucky Football very long...

If we beat Auburn then it could be the springboard to a really special season!

They're all important, but the Auburn game will tell us how good we really are because I'm not 100% sure how good USCjr and Missouri really are.

I'm not that sure about Auburn either but to beat all three, we definitely are pretty damned good!

You obviously have never played a sport.
I can almost guarantee I played football at a higher level than you. If you think just because EKU is our next game, that makes it the most important then it is you who knows nothing about sports. My initial point was why even respond to the thread if you're going to give a unoriginal, boring " the next game" response.

Biggest win to me would be Georgia. We would finally get respect. Would basically, clinch bowl bid and make anything possible. Also, shot for recruiting. Make any other game good chance of winning.

It is not a boring or cliche response. It is the correct response. Say we lose....how big would it be then?

I said Vandy, but I just remembered something Mike Leach said a long time ago, in 1998, right before we played EKU for the first time.

He was speaking to a Rotary Club meeting I attended and he said: "Fans may try to tell you the Eastern game is not a big game. But I told the players, well, just go out and lose it . . . then see how big it seems." [thumb2]

Have to say, it puts the EKU game in a different light.

We are not losing to EKU, if you think there's a chance then you're the only one. An SEC team playing a school in the D-1 subdivision is not a big game, it's just not. Regardless of our differing opinions on this thread I think we both would like to see UK destroy EKU and follow up with a win against Auburn on Thursday.

I most definitely want to see that. However, I have seen the App State, UL Monroe, and my Alma mater JSU of the worlds. I sure Ole Miss thought the same when they played JSU. And I am sure Auburn did as well. Look what happened. I love JSU being a grad from there, but they aren't a P5 school either. So why do you supposed they were able to beat Ole Miss and should have beaten Auburn. It is because those teams overlooked the opponent. All great coaches have that same mentality to never overlook the next opponent
