What is Leary seeing out there?

On several plays, he's thrown to a receiver when, from my vantage point, there have been 1 , and sometimes 2, receivers who are much more open than the one he throws to. The 4th down in the red zone, we had a TE on the left who was all alone and could have easily scored but he tried to throw into a scrum of defenders.

Is he not seeing field? Is he not going through his progressions? Seems like the play design is solid but he's not throwing to the right guy. Is that him or coaching or both?

True, but he's still not finding the most open receiver. Does he not see them? Does he even look?
