I want to share everything I am hearing. I've spoken with two individuals since late last night who are exceptional sources. They are split. One says Kentucky. The other says North Carolina. Remember that they are passing along information to me, and neither one would bet the farm yet on what he will do. The one who said UK is very connected, but he didn't share as much information.
The UNC conversation was a lot deeper. He added that his source is the "50/50" type, but he added that the individual would know if this is true. This person said that Wilson signed paperwork with UNC over a month ago. I have heard the same thing about both programs now. He added that Hubert Davis has consistently been recruiting the family while the Kentucky staff has been negotiating with the agency (Klutch). He was told that is why there has been so much varying misinformation. Of course the agency is always looking to drive up the NIL number.
I do think it depends who you are talking to. You can have two different stories, and both individuals be very sourced. My guy told me he doesn't know if this story is totally true, but that was what he was given. I will add that Mark Pope doesn't like to deal with agents, so there is a lot to take in. I just want to share info as I get it. I will say right now that there seems to be a little more optimism from the UNC side than Kentucky this morning.
