What games do you see us losing this year?

I think out of Duke, Kansas, LSU and Vandy we could go 2-2. Maybe slip up somewhere else in conference and maybe an early game while they are figuring things out. If they stay healthy, I think it's a 3-4 loss team on paper. Nothing wrong with that

I tend to be a realist/pessimist pre-season. This is a young team despite Ulis and not quite in the same talent category as the Wall/Cousins/Bledsoe and Davis/Jones/Mkg and Towns/Lyles/Booker/WCS teams. I look for some growing pains like the 2011 and 2014 teams, which will result in 6-7 losses, including one or two head scratchers. If I could identify which ones they wouldn't be head scratchers.

this is where I am with this team. As much as we love Poy as our senior player, his personality is not one that says "leadership." Marcus Lee, bless him, has improved, but he's not a Darius Miller (yes, I know different positions, I mean in terms of that quiet glue guy type).

Of course, that opinion could very well change based on how we play against Duke -

I think many are underestimating this team. This will be our best offesive since Cal got here team except for his first year IMO, and we might be better than that team also. I don't think we lose more than e games IMO, with Duke, KU, and Vandy being the toughest.

poythress was doing pretty well as a team leader at the time he went down with injury. if you recall he was probably playing better than anyone on the team. he really stood out on their bahamas trip.

If you're looking for a glue guy, I'm hearing Charles Matthews could be that guy.

@KU
@LSU
@A&M
@Vandy

Four losses in the regular season.

These are the 4, along with Duke early on, I'd say are out 5 toughest games on paper.

UK won't lose at Rupp, and why I feel that @UCLA going to the west coast time zone will be tricker than some care to admit...and a neutral site game against OSU, and the rivalry game against UL, albeit in Rupp....all will be challenging for a time, but should all be wins. Of course, some of the SEC home games won't be picnics either, but again, do not see this bunch losing at Rupp. I'm still shocked we have any losses at Rupp in Cal's time here as he is so good at home overall.

I must have been in a coma, because Poy in 2014-2015 REGULAR season was NOT playing better than anyone else on the team. The Bahamas trip was meaningless exhibition games, and Willis looked good there as well.

i concede, maybe not better, but as good as anyone. and the bahamas games may have been meaningless but they were competitive. willis did look good there as well, but i don't think his performance devalued the quality of the competition. poythress was playing very good basketball until the time of his injury.

I remember how the Harrisons played defense against Michigan State as freshmen. I remember how gassed WCS was as a freshman. I remember how long it takes freshmen to learn team defense. I see this year much more like the 2010-11 team. I think 6-7 losses is the probable number. This is an average Calipari team and Cal averages 7 losses.

This team is very young, very skilled and not very physical at this point. They are going to get punched in the mouth a few times before it sinks in what is necessary to win at this level. Our only real enforcer inside (Poythress) is still recovering from his injury. This team will take some lumps on the road against more physical, veteran teams until they get some games under their belts. I like our chances in March, but there will most likely be some bumps in the road on the way there. Cal's young teams have often struggled somewhat on the road and I don't think this team is immune from that. Probably 6-7 losses due to struggles on the road in the SEC.

I'm a little late on this thread, but I don't "see" us losing any games. I'm sure we will, but there are none I can predict. We have so much talent, very dangerous talent, that it is hard to predict us losing to anyone.
