What Do You Think Our Record Will End Up Being This Season?

If they can somehow beat South Carolina we could get to 7-5. I think they will win either one of the games between Florida or Mizzou. Life in the SEC is tough no matter how you slice it.

Thought 6-6 at Start of Season but going with 5-7 now. With a break somewhere 6-6 still possible but that is it.

5-7. Hoping to be pleasantly surprised.

All you 6-6 guys are silly. We'll either be 7-6 or 6-7, but 6-6 won't happen. We're in the SEC. If we go 6-6 we go to a bowl.

We all know that...

We're talking regular season.

How are we suppose to predict the outcome of a bowl game when we don't know who the opponent will be yet?

Geez!

I'll stick with 6-6/7-5. Happy either way. We aren't to our breakout year yet. Steady improvement will be fine by me.

4/5 wins
So, far they look like the same team that lost the last 6 games

D-Line can't stop the run, can't put pressure on the QB

O-Line can't run block, did a descent job pass blocking.

L-backers poor play

D-backs bright spot of the defense

QB hit and miss, inconsistent, can't read the field.

This is why message boards and polls should be banned until after week 5. There are so many question marks this early: teams generally only have about 70% of the playbook in, you haven't been able to scout teams who may have new coaches, coordinators, personnel, lots of teams have guys suspended for off-field stuff ,etc.

Now, I think Towles was disappointing and the LB's were below average. However, our 2 best LB's didn't play and one of our best DL didn't play. Do you think things might have been a bit different had they been playing? I sure don't see TD's being run up the gut with Hatcher and Flanigan playing.

4-8. We will win (1) game in the SEC Vandy. Having a former Def. Coord. as our head coach, you would think we would be better on defense Since year (1), we're not.

5-7

- 3 cupcakes and Vandy gets us to 4 wins. I think we find a way to get another SEC win vs. UF, Mizzou, USC, UL, Miss St and maybe UT...highly doubtful.
- If UK can't at least split the next 2 games vs. USC/UF...big trouble is brewing for this season.

I say 6 wins. If your scenario does happen, I fear that recruiting will become very difficult for Coach Stoops and we won't turn the corner in the SEC. It is so crucial that we get to at least 6 wins this season. IMO.

Some of the threads I've read have based the entire season on the 1st half of the first game, others - the second half. So, how do you think we end up?
It's really hard to predict UKs record. Based off the opening weekend UK is likely the underdog against 7 if you had any of them the second week. 2 p5 teams played each other and it was a tough game, another played a P5 team and won, the others played directional schools and won big. UK play a good small conference team and won a close one. UK could win as few as 4 or as many as 8. I don't think it's either of those extremes, so I am going 6-6, this weekend is a big game.

I'm going with 4-8.

But I think we'll have a lot of moral victories.

Well I think a lot of fan cards needs to be pulled between the early leaving and then having the gall to criticize Coach Stoops decisions.
I am a REAL UK FOOTBALL FAN...im beginning to think there are as not many of us as thought.
Please go back to the UL board...You told them, that you were banned over here.

5-7

Building takes years unless you get lucky and sign a Cobb-type game changer. We seem to be average at the most important position.

What really stinks is that if we do end up 4-8 or 5-7 like I think we will then this recruiting class will fall apart. We have to make a bowl game to keep it together and I just don't think that is real possibility.

Not enough info about the team yet and not enough info about the team we just played. This win could look much better or much worse than Saturday showed us.

Right now I say somewhere between 6-7 and 8-5. After week 4 we need to look at this again as it could improve.

To be fair doesn't every team have this issue?

I seriously doubt we lose any of our three best high school recruits even if we lose 9 games. I can't speak for other guys but several of them appear to be completely "all in".

As for the record, I see 6-6 and I am not going to predict a bowl result without even knowing the opponent.

3-9. Dont think we will beat Vandy because they will get better as the year goes on with a very solid defense and Stoops teams historically get worse down the stretch. I dont see an SEC win on the schedule. Anyone picking more than 6 wins max is totally delusional and doesnt live in what we call reality. I bought into the hype in the preseason once again but I have seen the light. Hope Im wrong but im starting to get the same feeling about Stoop's ability as a coach as I did about Joker, and thats not a good thing at all.

^Every yr that Joker was the HC, wins declined.
Every yr that Stoops has been a HC, wins have inclined.
While we certainly don't know if we have an elite HC in Stoops, it's a bit of a stretch to compare Joker to Stoops.
I think you're getting caught up in your own emotions to see "what we call reality."
Just a thought.

I sure hope I am dead wrong, that's for sure.

^I too worry about Stoops as a HC....but I'm not worried that he's more of the Joker type that will only win 2-3 games a yr. I'm worried that Stoops can get us to 6-7 games a yr......and that's it. The admin probably won't let him go as long as he goes to bowl games consistently....and a good portion of the fanbase will be appeased.

Stoops sure has upgraded the recruiting, probably deserves another 2-3 to decide his fate, even Beemer took 5-6 years to break through finally.

I'm waiting until the USC game to formulate my season projections. But, if you held me to the fire, I'd say 4-8.

I've said it all along, no need to change now. 7-5 and the Florida streak is history.
I'd love to win one of those "there ain't a snowball's shot in Hades we win" games (UGa, Auburn) and make it 8-4.
Another poster said it in another thread, if Mizzou can win the east, why can't we?
