What do you know Moron Medcalf picking the Ho's

This is a tough one to predict. UL, despite many here saying to the contrary, looked really good in their loss against Michigan State at State. So, UL can play well on an opponents home court. However, the home court energy is what can make Kentucky a great team if they play up-tempo. If UL is going to press that might be a good thing. The ball will need to be in Ulis's hands and he isn't going to turn it over. It is hard to imagine Kentucky is going to play as poorly again as they did against Ohio State or face a team hitting so many 3's in the first half. In some ways that game was like the Ole Miss game last year that was almost lost. The key is keeping it close in the first half or better yet getting a big lead. I think the confidence factor has to be impacted by the Ohio State game, so early good performance has to occur or it could be a problem.

Another factor that I do like is other than Mich State, UL has played very poor teams. Just like Kentucky and Poythress learned the hard way, what worked against Eastern Kentucky wasn't going to work against Ohio State. I think UL players may experience something similar. I think Kentucky wins this one by 7-8 points.

That's a good thing for us. Myron is awful with picks. 2014 he picked against us in every tourney game, it was great.

He's terrible and picking, but it's hard to disagree. Our team has looked like hot garbage thus-far.

Why do people get mad when someone picks UL?

It's not like they can't win this game.

It's not like we've looked good

I can't go against Cal and his record at Rupp and Pitino. I think UK pulls this out but I can totally understand if someone picks UL here

Based on what? UL losing to the only Power Conference Opponent they've played? Feasting on cupcakes and running up the score does not make you a Top Team.

I have seen segments of strong play by UL this year that might concern me with regard to the 12/26 game in Rupp. I have also seen segments of play by Kentucky that ought to concern UL. Bottom line, this is a game between 2 ranked teams, and the home team has won 7 out of the last 8 in the series. Matchups make games. Both of these teams are perimeter oriented. Defense and rebounding should determined the winner. I expect a competitive game, and don't get why some people are so sure they can predict the outcome.

Hate to say it but I think this truly is a game that could go either way. Defense will determine who comes out on top, in my opinion. I have confidence that Cal will have the guys focused but have to admit I still have concern about our play of late which has been less than impressive. I'll be nervous in Rupp when the tip takes place but I'll be yelling for my Cats.

nuff said.

I just don't see it. Louisville has played one of the worst schedules in college this year. Based on that article, he could say the exact same thing for us if we played South Carolina on Saturday. They're both fighting it out to see who's schedule was worse.

I agree with your premise but I don't think this is accurate. We won @ UL last season, and won @ UL in the 2010-11 season

Hopefully what he meant to say was that UK has won 7 of 8, and they are the home team. Wasn't worded very well.

Why does anyone read his hate filled drivel?

These guys just want hits and you guys fall for it.

Don't feed the hate!

It really wasn't hate. He brought up the same points many here have made and just said "at this point of the season ,UL is a little better"
No need to make a mountain out of a mole hill.
Do I agree? No. But many people just see the wins and loses and the close game against MSU and us losing to poorer teams. They don't see the cupcakes UL has played.
IMO. Basically UL was MSU's Ohio state to us.
I think we get a decent lead that fads down the stretch (hacking starts and the only fouls called are on on Lee and Brisco's defenders) and UK wins at around 5-10 points.

Win, lose or draw this one can't get here soon enough for me. Maybe we see what both teams have really got. OSU rained 3's on us then couldn't hit the broad side of a barn the next game, UL has played several teams that a good high school team could probably beat so throw it up and see what happens.

All that being said I wish we had worked on a few things this week, I don't want to see another sleepwalk start like we had against OSU

UL's schedule is weak but they have throttled those teams the way a good team should. I hope this doesn't come down to us having to make foul shots at the end.

Myron Medcalf...chronic UK hater. Dismissed.

As a side note- did anyone notice the first paragraph where he says he was "in the celebration after UL beat UK in 2012"? That was one of the dates specifically named by Katina Powell where she threw a whore party for the players.

Wonder why Myron didn't commit on the spot?
UL didn't beat UK in 2012,UK Won the National Championship that year and only lost to Indiana in December and to Vanderbilt in the SEC Tourney.
The only game UK has lost to UL since Calipari took over was in 2013,when UK had injuries, went to the NIT and only lost by a couple points at the Chicken Bucket

Nope, it was December 2012 when they beat us with Noel/Goodwin's team.
