What Cal said to Kenny Payne....awesome

I thought he said "why does he keep flexing his muscles," but whatever he said it cracked Kenny up.

Yeah, he should of ran back.

And got a transition dunks. He's still excited about making single good play. He's progressive so, i'm really happy. We will be completely different team if Skal and Willis can start. That's a lot of spacing, and would be very difficult to keep our guards in check with that kind of spacing.

I rewinded this part 4 or 5 times. Could be wrong but Cal asked Kenny if he flexed his muscles. Then he stood up and glared at Scal as he walked down the sideline. Wasn't happy about it.

I have to say we are lucky to have Kenny around. I love his presence, player development, recruiting, and how he interacts with Cal

Kenny Payne seems like one of the coolest guys in the world.

The guy sat with me and my father checking into the team hotel in Nashville and watched about 10 minutes of the Louisville/Uconn(i think) game. Just flopped down on the couch while we were watching asked how loisoville was doing. Talked with us and just seemed like a regular guy. He's awesome.

Yes because its punky and bush league...he got zero rebounds at 7 feet tall...whats he flexing for....now Willis...he had reason to flex

He shot the ball well..did nothing else...Cal said it multiple times in postgame...it isnt breaking news

Willis allowed a little leeway at this point dont ya think....not a ver astute observation on your part

Honestly I'm fine with him flexing after an and-one or a stopped clock shot block, but the earlier poster was right that he should have been busting his butt back on defense. It's hard to run fast with your fists at your ears. [laughing]

Honest assessment: it's great to see him letting go and playing with enthusiasm. It's showing that Cal took the pressure off him and now he's just playing the game. He's still making silly mistakes in defense on the block (falling for head fakes, up and under moves, leaving his feet, not boxing out, poor rebounding), but that stuff will come in time as he continues to work on getting tougher.

Keep getting better big fella. We need you in March.

He had a good game so I don't wanna nitpick and I have no problems with him flexing, Let him have some fun.

18 mins played tho and ZERO rebounds. That might be why Cal wasn't thrilled.

The midrange shot isn't shocking. We saw it in the exhibition games and somewhat at the beginning of the year. Skal can shoot the ball.

To get the team to the next level tho he'll have to be better defensively.

Im actually happy to see Skal doing some flexing too. Anything to help him be confident in himself and to keep drilling that 10 footer. I think he is coming along, in large part because he has been put in a better position to be successful

That's just wrong. Skal had an excellent game considering where he's been. Natural for him to celebrate a little success.

Just look at it like your quest to create a multi-page useless thread. You have the useless part down pat.

Odd, you mention nothing Bout willis dunking and celebrating all the while he didn't get back and his man scored....turned a blind eye at your lovers actions heh?
I must have been celebrating too, because I didn't see Willis' man score. Please point out who scored.

Yeah it was the next play. His guy drove right around him and got a layup. Don't remember who it was. I'm not complaining too much though. If he gets 18 & 12 and just plays as hard as he can on D, I'm not going to cry too much if he gets beat once or twice

There were a couple of times Willis got his signals crossed on defense. All in all though, his defense has markedly improved. If he can stay on his guy at the top of the key and not give up the route to the basket on his right side so easily, he will become a solid defender. I dunno what Cal did to turn around Willis' defense because he was pretty horrid earlier in the season. Whatever it was, he should bottle it.

As to the knocks on Skal's defense, he was hell bent to swat some shots last night. Soon as he learns to stay on his feet and only go after the "blockable" shot, his rebounding will improve. With Skal, I'm kinda where I was with Willis on his first 12 - 12 night. Its just one game and not that big a deal. If he can put together several like this, I'd advise not selling your tickets to the NCAA tourney just yet.

The camera only caught him saying "making a muscle" with a confused like look on his face and the he yells "Hey....stop it" onto the court, so I am guessing he asked Kenny "Why is he making a muscle?".

I thought he said" Look at my muscle, This coming saturday Im going to walk down the sideline and put a "Bobby Knight on Joe B Hall move" on Bill Self

I'm happy to see Skal fired up instead of looking like the donkey on the Winnie the Pooh cartoon! Lol

When Skal did that my first reaction was to laugh out loud. Really. My second reaction was to conclude that recliner repair shops all over the commonwealth are sure gonna be busy.

Lol, he needs to stop that.

But also, has anyone else noticed that the OP always finds something to be ticked about when we win big?
