What are you listening to?

Heard about an Prestonsburg, Kentucky radio station yesterday. CMH23.com
Plays a bunch of new and older country music. It's a good listen of you're into country.

Too much Jack Black hate going around here lately. This whole album is great, and I still have this song randomly pop in my head 20 some years later.

I don't know enough about drumming to debate that in good faith, but I've always been in awe of Danny Carey.

Danny Carey will part of what many consider the most talented group of musicians currently getting ready for touring. He will be in Louisville on 12/10 for a recently-added new show. Tix on sale now ... see beat-tour link below !!
The Cincinnati show on 10/26 is SOLD OUT !!
This should be pretty incredible music !!

They'll be blowing the crowds away with stuff like this !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Adrian Belew is a Kentucky native, for anyone that doesn't know.

Great cover of a great song by J. D. SIMO and his trio, including a TREMENDOUS solo … INCREDIBLE tone !!!!!!!!

Whenever "the GOAT drummer" debate comes up, and the usual suspects start getting named (Bonham, Peart, buddy Rich etc.), I chuckle and play Rufus Jones, and that essentially ends the discussion. Greatest left hand in history, custom made and passed down from God himself. LOL

Jazz is dlfferent than Rock.

It was Bobcat Golthwaite who said, “ if you see Huey walking down the street, do you say, Is that rock star Huey Lewis or do you say Hey, I think that guy is friends with my dad”.

I have been listening to some stuff from my high school days but the last week or so I have been binge listening to Huey Lewis and the News for some strange reason. 🤣
I think I can top that. I have the Little River Band's greatest hits in my car. Great band that few today have heard of.

I got a book about Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and Bill Evans for my birthday. In it the author referenced the composer George Russell and his Concerto for Billy the Kid. I'd never heard of him or his composition. So,

15 years later, there'd be Soft Machine, King Crimson, and prog rock.

Digging the new Sturgill album. I generally don’t like country music at all, but have a soft spot for more traditional sounding country. It’s not a genre I want to listen to everyday, but if fits certain moods very well.

Some songs sound like his old stuff which I dig. Some of his newer albums were not my cup of tea.

I like the acid rock album he made in 2019, but know I am in the minority. I thought several of the songs were good … after you sat through 90 seconds of essentially noise. His first two albums are my favorite of his because it has that 70s country sound.

I totally agree on the 1st album. It had a Waylon Jennings vibe to me. I think the acid rock album required the acid. 🤣

🤣🤣 at this whole concept. Every song is cracking me up; that gag never gets old. I'm dying to play this at a dinner party to see how long before someone notices.

John Mayall died today at 90 years of age.
I was lucky enough to see him three (3) times and every time was great !! This is my favorite song, but I loved many of his.
