Western Michigan at UK

Terrible performance by our guys. We couldn’t even cover the run line. Fire Ming!

Gritty win. Played poorly in a lot of aspects and probably didn't deserve to win that game, but to battle back says a lot for them.

Team has a lot of heart. It would've been easy to quit and they didn't. It's WMU, but that was a big win. If they keep that mindset for the whole season, they could surprise some teams.

It was a pure and total luck out let's be honest. That being said at least we're 6-O

Wouldn’t say it was luck which is difficult to define in baseball over a few games. I would characterize it as bad bullpens and timely hitting.

These guys have shown the ability to hit in clutch situations and make the play that’s needed at the time. For now, that will suffice. One game at a time.

Still not jumping to any major conclusions. Rough pitching day that we gave up 10 walks and 2 grand slams. Still, don't know if that's an anamoly or something we might regularly struggle with. Have to wait and see.

Meanwhile, against similar lousy competition...

Tennessee wins:
9-0
10-3
14-0
16-1
27-1
29-0

My God. Makes me sick.

Their SS dropped a pop up in the 9th inning that would have ended the game, dont know what else to call it

^ Admittedly, I didn’t see the game so don’t know if the SS was camped under it and then dropped it or if it was a tough play and he dropped it? 🤷‍♂️ Makes a little difference in how I would judge it.

LOL, understand completely. My take was it was a play any decent SEC SS makes 995 times out of a 1000

Good thing it wasn’t an SEC team then. 😊. 995 out of a 1000? Hope that’s hyperbole as I don’t see college shortstops - even the SEC - at that high of a percentage. Would give you 95/100 but your figure is a might high imo.

In any event, we’re all Cat fans here even if we agree to disagree. ✌️

It was a play he should have made but he did have a long way to run. It was out on the bottom edge of the UK logo in center. He got to the ball and got under it but wasn't really camped. Hit the palm of his glove and popped out.

I knew I should've stuck around to watch the rest of the 8th yesterday. Oh well. I know giving up all those runs to WMU is nothing to be happy with, but I'll take any wins!
