Well, Chris Fallica from College GameDay picks UK to win

Rhavicc....love your positive attitude. There have been so many people completely dog our guys after predicting 7-8 win seasons from the beginning and it is nice to see some who actually support our guys through thick and thin and don't let one bad half of football derail their rational thought process.

Go CATS!

LOL. You never know what's gonna happen in a football game, but I'm a little surprised more UK fans aren't more optimistic about this game. How many times has UK gone down to Columbia with the better QB, better group of WR's, and probably better RB's? And adding to those advantages, SC has a really young QB, less than mediocre defense, and a young/banged up group of wide receivers.

As long as the turnover difference doesn't become a negative for UK, I love their chances.

Have people been saying we'll lose by 50? Haha

You should check out some of the predictions. Really some mind blowing ones.

Thanks a ton, brotha. I've seen nothing that suggests irreversible damage has been done to our defense.

A lot of truth here. South Carolina may possibly have the best player on the field, but football is a team sports, and I think we have a better team. Kentucky has shown that it can stop the run when we key in on it, and South Carolina has an incredibly youthful, inexperienced offensive line to block for that running game that lacks a star RB, and a QB that averages below 50% on his career.

I think this year is the chance to move up the ladder. If usc scores 50 on us, I won't watch another game this year. That being said they won't do that.

Agree.
Spurrier is UK fans' kryptonite, though. They are scared to death of the old man.
As far as the predictions, though, this board is so full of UofL fans posing as UK fans that it's really hard to know what UK fans think. Really a sad little pathetically envious life that many UofL fans lead.

This weekend in South Carolina. Figured I would share that. Apparently he doesn't think UK will lose by 50 points to a South Carolina team than can only score 20, like some here believe.
Amazing how one half of football can change a fan's perspective of the team.

That is so false. You honestly think there is a ton of Louisville fans that care enough to litter a UK football message board? Do you think they honestly envy our football program too? Just because everything isn't sunshine and rainbows for a week doesn't mean everyone is a Card fan in deep cover.

I think we have a really good chance of winning this weekend.

This is one games I want Kentucky to win not just South Carolina, but to lay that lost on Spurrier.

Uhhh.........the QB has started one whole game and had 3 passes that were in receivers' hands that were dropped. Once he settled in, he had a nice game and something to build on. So if he was 12 of 22, would he still get the same treatment (especially since he started 0 for 5)???

When did UK become this juggernaut I keep hearing about? Was it last year during your 5 win season? Was it the past 15 years when you're going 13-2 against the Gamecocks. I'm all for good football talk, but this is getting comical.

SC and UK have a long ways to go this year to be called "good." But guess what, it's a long season and both could end up being good (or bad) regardless of what happens Saturday. (And for the poster above, SC has very good RB's so I'm not sure UK has any advantage there). I do think UK has the better QB at present. As for defense, we'll have to see what shakes out for both teams but both should be better than last year. Should be a fun game.

I think this year is the chance to move up the ladder. If usc scores 50 on us, I won't watch another game this year. That being said they won't do that.

SC's offense doesn't have a 50 point game in them so you're safe there. They can be good, but there's lots of "ifs" they have to work out. We won't see 50 in any game this year IMO.

Make this simple, if KY's offense plays its A game very few defenses in the country can stop them. That said, which KY defense shows up is a whole different matter. Both teams are evenly matched. That is how well Stoops has built this roster in a short period of time. William Brice will be rocking and its a very tough place to play. Many of KY's young guys handled Florida's crowd well last year. I will be surprised if SC holds KY under 30 points. The big question is how well KY can handle SC's run game and defending Cooper.

This is the most winnable game KY has had at SC (on paper) since 2007. That KY team did not rise to the occasion that night but SC was also much better than they they are now. I like KY chances this time around. I think they are ready to make a statement and will be very focused and ready to win this game.

Amazing how one half of football can change a fan's perspective of the team.

Believe me, I was amazed too. Now it's to the point that it's really an irritation. Kentucky could win this game for sure if they played like they did in the first half of last game (which I think is closer to the real UK than what we seen in the 2nd half).
The reality is that this USC team has an offensive line that lacks experience, and imposing size, a QB that completes below 50% of his passes for his career, a bunch of wide receivers that have a hard time catching the ball (albeit, they're good blockers), and they have one real playmaker in Pharoh Cooper.
Their defense hasn't shown me anything to believe that they've changed.

Right, had Cooper wide open and threw it behind him 5 yards and into the dirt. One of those that hit the receivers in the hands, the receiver had to turn back and slide to even have a chance to get it. Reality is, they did not catch it, he does not average over 50% completion percentage on his career, and he has a lot of work to do, because so far, he is visibly a bad passer.

I'm not sorry that you don't like what I have to say, but to this point, you haven't proven that anything that I have said has been even slightly off base. I never said that UK was a juggernaut, I just believe they're better than USC this year, because UK is not the same team that is has been for the past 15 years, and USC is not the same team that it was as recently as 2, 3 years ago.

I'm also going to need some convincing that Boom Williams isn't going to be the best RB between Kentucky and South Carolina. Heck, several South Carolina fans came here trying to say that Elijah Hood was better, despite not matching Boom in any single statistical category. That said, I'm a big fan of Brandon Wilds, I think he's very good, I just don't think he's going to be the best RB there.

There is about as much chance of SC winning this game by 50 as UK winning this game by 20-21 on the road....0 percent on both accounts. Those people just do not know college football and really should never predict a game again. This is going to be a close game, and the first team that has their defense play consistently is going to win the game.

UK winning by 20 vs SC winning by 50 is not the same.

UK absolutely has a chance to win by 20 if Towles gets his ish together. Carolina's DB's will get abused imo and if Towle is on (BIG IF) than this one "could" be a laugher.

I suspect SC will come out, dare us to throw deep, and we will connect on some big plays. Then they will adjust into a man cover to or zone 3 and we will have the numbers in the box to help Boom get loose, who btw, is our best player.

Towle is the Key. I was discourage by his accuracy, but encouraged that he was at least finding the open receivers, something he didn't do last year.

whats nice is that we are not relying on them to have a bad game for us to win. i honestly think if they play well we can just out play them and it's been a while since i have felt like that in this game.

If ifs and buts were candy and nuts we'd all have a merry Christmas. The last time we beat a south Carolina team by freak accident at home the next year they came out and creamed us by at least 40. Looking at our defense and inconsistent qb ( less than 50 percent completion percentage In 7 straight games) it wouldn't surprise me if we got creamed by multiple touchdowns because you can bet these guys will want revenge and have recruited twice as good as us for almost 10 years straight. That being said, if we get lucky and towles gets it together and has a random "one off" good game we have a punchers chance. Now I'm a big blue fan through and through, win or lose, but Some of you guys drink so much blue kool aid that I'm pretty sure they could convince you to join the jonestown cult. Sorry guys I'll believe in the greatness of stoops, towles, and the rest of them when I see it on the field.

Hey I'm glad you have an opinion and I do as well, that's what these boards are for, and by gosh I hope we win every game we play, I'm just expressing how I feel from what I see, maybe I'm a bit jaded from all these years of losing , but I don't like building expectations up to have them crushed year after year, I really have to see it now before I believe all the talk about improvement and I would be willing to bet you that a more than significant portion of the fanbase feels the same way, and believe you me I stayed until the damn end of the game on saturday

Actually that team played very well, but one part malfunctioned. At a critical 2nd half juncture Little fumbled the ball three times-----on three consecutive touches, each on the first series of UK's possession, each on first down, and each a loss of possession. A real anomaly, at the time it was feared he had become fumble prone, but he had a great career in every respect except for that game and actually he still gained 135 yards in that game.

It seemed to be a continuation of several consecutive games where Brooks should have beat USC but they always pulled out the win.

Even though we get lucky for every wildcat win, that doesn't mean I'm not a true fan...I just tell it like it is...big blue thru and thru - /daddy63

Typical idiot fan who has a problem with the other team's fans thinking they might actually win and turns that into "...when did UK becoming a juggernaut I keep hearing about". Moronic.

You have a point that disappointed fans doesn't mean they're "undercover" fans of another team or something, but if you don't believe that there are SEVERAL posters on this board that are UofL fans posing as UK fans, then I don't know what to tell you. I've been on this board for years and there are new posers that pop up almost weekly. Some have been doing it for years and are still allowed to post for some reason, no matter how many times they're called out. Ee:RuppsRevenge

By gosh? Location: Your mom's house? I hope the USC fans in this thread aren't dense enough to believe that you're anything but a Troll. You aren't even good at pretending to be a UK fan

I fully expect us to go into Columbia and leave with a victory. I'm confident enough, that I am betting the money line. This team ain't like Joker's teams, boys.

This ain't your daddy's UK team any more. Dont think guys from 10 years ago are still on the USC roster. UK has, recruited much better over the last 3 years. USC lost about a 3rd of one of their recent classes for numerous reasons.

I'm not even sure why I replied since you're probably just a troll and enjoying me responding to you.

Lets be real here you can't compare players according to the numbers they put up in the first game. UK played Louisiana Lafayette South Carolina Played UNC. Those teams are not comparable in terms of talent. UNC has Gene Chizik as there D Coordinator. He seems to have South Carolina's number every time they play. Stats mean nothing unless you understand the circumstance they are in. Looking at the stat sheet I can say that Jalen Nixon was the best QB on the field between UK Vs UFL. He completed 100% of his passes. He has a 99.8 QBR rating not bad sounds like they have you guys beat at QB right. Nope. Lets play the game before you say who has the best RB/QB/WR. Good luck to both sides. This will be a fun game to watch.

Bye, Fallica.

I think we prevail as long as we hold them under 30 pts, and I believe we can and should do that, in spite of last week's failings. I think we will be successful on offense this week, but not in the same way we were last Saturday (when we were successful).

I expect a much more serious commitment to establishing a consistent ground and short to intermediate passing attack this week. With a larger dose of Mr. Horton and Mr. Baker (and Conrad???) on first down, I expect us to succeed in that and play ahead of the chains in a more methodical manner this week, so as not to maroon the defense. We will still take some shots, and probably connect on them, but I see CMS imploring Coach Dawson to be a little more jealous of the football this week, and deliver on those 80+ plays. When we don't have the football, I suspect CMS might go small with the defensive personnel just to keep some younger guys on the sideline, but we'll see. I think he is probably more confident in McClain than some of our young LBs.

I think it as likely that we go down there and embarrass them, as the reverse. If we go down there and manage a +3 or greater turnover margin, it could be the beginning of the end for the HBC. They will not be able to swallow us rolling in there and leaving 14+ point victors, should it come to pass.

No they don't. Keep on putting unrealistic expectations on the team who hasn't won a road game since like 2009. This is not at Vandy (we get that later), and won't be an easy win. I guess your argument basically is if the heavens part, everything goes UK way and SC just does not show up or care...then yeah, we can get a 20+ victory, but that is not happening on the road in the SEC. And yeah, I expect us to score points...the problem is going to be stopping SC. You people thinking they are not going to run it down our throats and score big points are in for a surprise (not saying you specifically). And I've seen SC win this game by 50+ in the last few years while our two victories have been by 3 and 7....both at home. I'll say again, this is going to be a close game either way.
