Canes look the real deal this season, I know Florida isn’t the Gators of old but Miami is talented
And based on how the ACC has looked so far, they look to be the frontrunner there.
Miamis schedule is easy as well. Other than at UL and FSU, they should win the other 9 easily on paper. They may finally do something that matters after like 20 years of irrelevance.
Seen all I need to see from Lagway. That kid is going to be a handful for the next 3-4 years...if he doesn't transfer to a contender. He'll be sought after every portal season.
Not sure if he can save Napier, but maybe he keeps them barely above water this year, has some nice highlights and gives them a little hope for the future.
Mertz may be done...hate to see an injury but I think Lag was probably inevitably going to get on the field.

After the beat down today, 1st of many this year. I am no fan of UF, I hated seeing Billy take that job, but was happy for him reaching his lifelong goal. I will be surprised if he makes it through the year. Whoever hires Billy has a good chance of getting Lagway too, he is at UF because of Billy, not UF. My hope is Kirby hires him as a consultant, they are friends, couple hours from his family. And Lagway comes with him, not so much to play, but just to mess with UF. Meltdown would break Rivals records.

Lagway may be Napier's leverage. If they can pull out 6-7 wins this year and Lagway looks good, Napier may be safe because firing him means he could get picked up by a contender and take the kid with him. Lagway was going to be sought after in the portal every season regardless.
UGA was the first school that came to mind. Kirby, just like Saban, will hire big name HC and/or coordinators in a heartbeat and Dawgs will be in the market for a QB next season, a super star potential like Lagway makes sense for them.
Is Miami that good? Imo no. Florida looks like the same team they've been, for the last few years

I was mostly tongue in cheek with that. But Athens would put Billy about 3 hours from his brother's and Mother and an hour from his sister. That may not be a big deal to some but they are a pretty close family. Lagway may not follow Billy, but I think that's more likely than Billy coming to Athens.
