Weather alert for Ole Miss Game

Hurricane projection strong Cat 3 Cat 4 possible next weekend.

Yeah one of the guys who post on our board works in the weather field said it was shaping up to be a pretty big storm. But as of last night they weren't ready to predict where it would hit land. Could be anywhere from Texas to Florida. Mississippi has been hit pretty hard in the last few years.

Praying the thing dissipates.

Man, no luck would be better so far than the luck those of us who have planned to go are getting..

I m praying Fiona (toward Canada) can lessen over the next couple of days but what is scheduled to hit in that area (Mississippi) next weekend?

Supposedly a new hurricane will be forming in the Gulf over the next few days and it could be significant.

Possibly a major hurricane forming in the Caribbean just north of Venezuela. Early models are projecting the path likely headed into the gulf and landing somewhere between Louisiana and the FL panhandle around next Friday.

Living here in Tallahassee, we are watching it, but I'm supposed to head to KY next Wednesday. Glad I won't be here, but I didn't really want to have to hurricane prep the house before I leave town.

You all had me worried. I had to look up the forecast and look for any storm paths.

As long as there is no lightning not sure why you can’t play football in a hurricane. Although we wouldn’t want to mess up the grass. Beautiful natural grass it is, makes ours look high school-ish.

He did say early models were looking more like Florida, but not enough to predict that yet, hopefully in next couple days. If he adds anything I will post here.

They haven't got a hurricane strength right in several years now. With the Caribbean and gulf waters boiling I would imagine this will undergo rapid intensification and become the first cat 5 this season in Atlantic. Jus my guess but they missed on Fiona and it was the little Ole storm out at sea. Now it is cat4 and gonna clobber Canada this weekend. It looks like around GameDay next weekend there will be a Hurricane 🌀 making landfall around Gulf Port is what I believe.

We are built to play in hurricanes!! Ask Coach he will tell ya.

I’m in the Florida panhandle now on vacation and the locals are preparing for it to hit. Hopefully it won’t become a major storm.

I had to work in a hurricane once. We were loading 2 semis with exhibitions to go from the museum of Natural History to go to the Carnegie in Philly ( if I remember correctly) the rain was blowing into the loading dock and getting on the exhibits so some dummy volunteered to climb ontop of the semis and make a rain cape out of tarps. Since I was single, with no kids I was that dummy.

I was sooo wet! I couldn't see because of the rain on my glasses and no way to wipe them off. I've done some really weird stuff but got great stories from them. :)

We have been murdered with hurricanes in Louisiana and there is nothing worse on earth than those damn things 😡

I live across the bay from Mobile, AL and I’m starting to prep tomorrow. Filling every gas can I can get a hold of! I would gladly trade hurricanes for KY winters every time… although I’m sure my neighbors would strongly disagree. 😂

Interesting link, pretty accurate normally but its been all over the place today. Its showing a strong cat 3 hitting in floridas big bend then falling apart pretty quickly. Not great for Mobile but not a direct hit.

The play button shows the full loop. The right or left arrows move you 6 hours at a time. Oxford time is Zulu minus 6 hours.

Oxford is so far from Gulf that it won’t be worse than heavy rain and mild wind there.

Possibly but now the models have it cutting across central Florida and going out to the Atlantic. Crazy. We have an entire week before it gets here. No telling where it will end up at this point.

I live near birmingham. Was blocked In from leaving due to huge trees in road. had no power for 8 days .. tree crashed parents boat house. Neighbors lost 3 cars.

All from a hurricane 2 years ago. Not even a big one either.

Latest track ive seen shows it hooking hard to the right and hitting anywhere from Tampa to the Keys.

One of the most complex systems humans try to understand, weather.

Blessed to have never experienced a hurricane and hoping this thing misses any land masses.

You guys sure have, hate for yall. The poster on UGA's board thinks this one is going to hit much farther east than you. On the gulf coast of Florida. He said the feeling is it his land between Tampa and Panama. That's just a calculated guess as you know these things can turn at any time. So if that is correct hopefully you guys come out ok on this one.

Looked it up, last time Tampa took a direct hit from a hurricane was 1921.
