Were at the mercy to what the rest of the Eastern Time Zone does, so ultimately what New York City does.

If Kentucky decided to stay on daylight savings time and didn't fall back it would create an entirely new time zone in the middle of the country an hour later than Eastern in the Winter. So never going to happen.

What they could do is move the entire state to Central Time during daylight savings and when the clocks don't change it would be Eastern Time during the Winter.

Then move that Central time line from Hart co or whatever East. Eff NYC and the Eastern seaboard

You can say Eff the NYC and the Eastern seaboard all you want but they won't GAF is we stay on DST, everything will still happen at the same time. So say hello to a 9-6 work day and 10PM SEC tips.

I live in the Central Time Zone. I'm probably a minority opinion but I would rather not spring forward at all and stay on standard time all year round.

Actually, The time zone should be split at 7 and 1/2° beyond the meridian that equals 15° times. Whatever multiplier. That s is 5 or 75 degrees longitude. Everything in Kentucky West of 82 and 1/2° should be in the central time zone. That's almost the entire State. This is easy to do if you follow the science. Instead we followed the economics.

While I enjoy the longer days, I am not looking forward to my body not being tired at the time the clock says to go to bed for the next week. I much prefer to feel ready for bed an hour early like I do in the fall.

I am fine with picking a time and sticking to it either way. I’m on Central time for reference.

It is hard to believe how a hour time difference messes with my body. I don't use alarm clocks because I just wake up when I should. When time changes my body's clock stops working correctly and I feel like ass for two weeks. Sometimes it can even make me sick. I loathe time change.

What else you going to do today besides change clocks?

I'm torn living in Ky ETZ. I love the DST late evenings of summer to sit outside & be warm. It also allows more time for youth sports w/o lights.

OTH, I hate the idea of the sun not rising till 9 in mid-winter. Bad for school kids most of all waiting in the middle of darkness.

If have to pick one, it would be EDT & shift school & work hours an hour later from Nov-Feb.

How does this impact anyone? You go to sleep. You wake up. It’s a different time. I didn’t even realize it happened until around 1:30 when my wife mentioned it.
